What are the Escape Pants?
These are versatile outdoor trousers with a lightweight yet functional construction. The Escape Pants are the perfect go-to trousers for virtually any outdoor activity, whether hiking, scrambling or hill walking, yet you could even wear them for everyday use if you're looking for something practical.
What are they made of?
These trousers are made with TecWEAVE™, a blend of nylon and elastane, which feels smooth on the skin. TecWEAVE™ is stretchy enough to promote a range of movement whilst enhancing overall comfort. The blend is also lightweight yet durable enough to endure a beating in different terrains and conditions throughout the year.
For sunnier months and hill days when exposed to the sun, the material has a handy UPF 50+ rating to provide sufficient protection from those harmful rays.
The material is impregnated with a PFC-free durable water repellent (DWR), adding to the material's water resistance and encouraging light rain and snow to bead away. However, please note that this doesn't mean that they're fully waterproof.
Perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs) used in earlier DWRs can't 'break down', so once they reach nature (usually via water waste from factories), they stay out in the environment and contaminate living organisms, working their way up the food chain. PFC's are suspected carcinogens and have been known to affect reproduction and hormone production in mammals. For these reasons, many brands are now using PFC-free alternatives to reduce the impact manufacturing has on our beautiful planet.
What are their features?
The waistband is partly elasticated to prevent restriction and lined with a soft tricot lining for next-to-skin, moisture-wicking comfort. The Escape Pants are fastened with a simple zipped fly front for easy access.
Plus, two zipped hand pockets, and one zipped security pocket on the thigh provide various organisation options for essentials such as trail snacks, energy gels, a GPS device, mobile phone or car keys.
In terms of fit, these trousers sit a little closer to the leg and are more fitted than standard hiking trousers, helping to reduce bulk and volume for better precision and movement in more technical or uneven terrain.
