What are the Lite Track Pants?
The Lite Track Pants are classic Tierra outdoor pants. They're fantastic for general outdoor activities and mountain adventures, made with durable, stretchy material to provide maximum freedom of movement and comfort for long days on the trails.
What are they made of?
These trousers mainly comprise Versatile 2FS, blending bluesign® approved recycled polyamide, polyester and elastane to create a durable four-way stretch. Tierra has used Versatile 2FS to enhance freedom of movement for technical manoeuvres, steep ascents and tricky scrambles, optimising comfort for an array of activities.
The mixture of polyamide and polyester is lightweight yet robust enough to withstand bumps and scrapes in rugged terrain, while added elastane gives the fabric a nice, flexible feel. It's treated with a PFC-free DWR (durable water repellent) to encourage light rain to bead off instead of soaking in. Although please note that this will not make the trousers fully waterproof. For wet conditions, it would be a good idea to pack a lightweight shell layer for added protection.
Tierra has added reinforcements to high-wear points, such as the rear and bottom of the legs, where they'll most likely catch against jagged edges or crampons, increasing overall longevity. These patches are constructed with 100% polyamide and a PU membrane. They're Oeko-Tex certified, giving the Lite Track Pants plenty of environmental credentials without compromising quality.
What are their features?
The waist comes with belt loops which allow you to (of course) attach a belt or even hook carabiners for extra gear carry if you need to keep particular items close to hand.
There are two front pockets, fastened with zips that are super handy for storing energy gels and snack bars to keep you fuelled for the day. The leg pocket, which has a bellow and zip, is much better for bulkier items that you don't want getting in your way, such as a mobile phone or GPS device. It's more spacious and located on the outer thigh, where you won't require the flexibility that you would nearer your waist and hips.
A built-in gusset gives you additional comfort and full movability in critical areas, so you won't have to worry about splitting your trousers halfway along your route!
At the end of each leg, you'll find a hidden zipper and bellow extension, giving you additional space for wearing chunky mountain boots underneath, should you need it. Each hem also has a cord adjustment and shoe hook, allowing you to optimise the fit around your footwear and helping to keep the weather out at the bottom.
