What are the Morviken Pants?

The specially designed Morviken Pants provide performance for various winter adventures, whether general alpine exploring, skiing, mountaineering, even snowboarding! Their updated Gore-Tex® construction provides ample waterproof protection and reliable durability to survive in rugged terrain.

What are they made of?

These trousers are primarily made with a revised version of the classic three-layer Gore-Tex®. This updated Gore® material uses an ePE membrane, a key milestone in the leading brand's responsible performance journey. If you were wondering, ePE stands for expanded polyethylene, which is lightweight, durable, and PFC-free. If you're familiar with Trekitt descriptions, you may have seen that 'PFC-free' phrase floating around before. PFCs are per or poly-fluorinated chemicals, aka 'forever chemicals' that stay permanently in the environment and cause lasting damage to our ecosystems. Many companies are working towards a completely PFC-free future, so this is quite a breakthrough for the Gore-Tex® brand! In addition, this membrane has a reduced carbon footprint, as it uses laminates with a lower-mass membrane and select textiles, making it an ideal choice for more environmentally conscious adventurers.

The material itself provides complete waterproof and windproof protection, with ample breathability to prevent sweat and condensation from building up inside, helping regulate body temperature. Overall, it has been rigorously tested to ensure a long-lasting product life, which adds to those eco-friendly credentials, as you won't need to buy a new replacement for a long time, saving energy, resources and waste.

The pants also use a bluesign® approved recycled polyester solution-dyed backer. bluesign® certifications ensure that the materials used avoid harmful substances, use reduced air and water emissions, increase resource productivity, and the production line is more transparent and trustworthy.

What features do they have?

The adaptable design comes with removable suspenders that allow you to take them off if you don't want to wear them. There's also a zip fly and an elastic adjuster around the waist that you can use to enhance the fit over long johns and layers when needed.

Two zippered leg pockets provide ample storage for essentials like snacks, energy gels and gloves without having them in your way.

Long, two-way zips at each side provide maximum ventilation, allowing you to dump heat quickly and regulate temperature when working hard.

Reinforcements at the ends of each leg help prevent snagging on crampons or jagged rock, increasing reliability and longevity for those yearly ski trips and burly winter adventures.

The hem of each leg is adjustable, meaning you can reduce the volume around the bottom and close the fabric around various types of footwear to keep the weather out. Weather protection is also enhanced with a velcro snow skirt that keeps the powdery stuff at bay.
