What are the DMM Alloy Offsets?
In simple terms, they're climbing nuts designed for awkward breaks in the wall where standard nuts wouldn't fit. Thanks to their tapered shape, they're great for flared or irregular cracks on a route, providing a safer, more reliable solution on the wall.
What are their features?
The asymmetrically tapered design allows each nut to protect cracks where typical climbing nuts wouldn't be able to securely - for example, on flared cracks and peg scars. You can also use them in conjunction with regular nuts to find security in almost any split in the rockface.
Shaping also allows placement in two different orientations to increase the versatility, doubling the number of cracks a single piece could protect.
Grooved faces help to improve security in irregular rocks, and each colour is coordinated across passive and active protection to offer a quick selection of alternatives if your first choice doesn't sit safely. This particular product is a single nut, which you can use with other nuts in the DMM range or your existing kit if you're simply missing a piece!
These handy little gems of passive protection also work well in wet or icy conditions, perfect if you're braving UK winters at the crag!
