What is the Distance 1500?
The Distance 1500 represents the pinnacle of headlamp technology. Primarily designed for long routes, multi-day challenges, overnight endurance races, marathon training or trail running, and provides continuous lighting for long-range terrain assessments and trail-marker spotting, with lesser weight and more comfort.
What are its features?
Innovative PowerTap™ technology boosts the main beam to its max setting, 1500 lumens. This beam will dim automatically after 10 seconds to save battery unless you customise the settings. It'll give you a quick boost to see the next trail marker without leaving you the faff of returning to the original programme.
This technology also has a user-accessed temperature control mode that allows a maximum 1500-lumen output if your environmental conditions allow for safe and functional operation.
Constant output programming provides continuous light for long-distance adventures before switching into reserve power mode when the battery gets low. One full battery will last eight hours when the lamp is set at 300 lumens, and two full batteries will last eight hours when set to 600 lumens.
A Comfort Cradle™ construction provides a contoured, padded fit that reduces bounce on the move. You can use the top strap to increase security when moving across technical, more uneven terrain; however, when the route is flatter, you could remove it if you prefer not to wear it.
A multifaceted optical lens provides various options, including depth lighting, which provides a further view of obstacles and smoother, more diffused lighting for consistent visibility.
The battery is rechargeable and interchangeable for easy accessibility, allowing you to recharge without buying new sets of batteries; of course, this is also an advantage for more eco-conscious adventurers!
The batteries are magnetic, making it easy to clip them in or take them out, minimising the risk of dropping them if you need to switch them out and charge them when moving. They're super easy to switch, easy enough only to need one hand, and feature an integrated red flasher that sits at the rear for additional visibility after dark.
Climbers and mountaineers will be pleased to know that this headtorch is also helmet compatible, so you can easily slip it on with a climbing helmet without it becoming uncomfortable or getting in the way.
This headtorch has an IP67 rating, meaning it's completely waterproof and even submersible underwater.
