What are the Cross Hike Mid 2 GTX's?
They're lightweight, agile hiking boots that provide excellent protection in any terrain or season. The Cross Hike Mid 2 GTX boots are super grippy, supportive and comfy enough to wear all day long on challenging trails and steep ascents.
What are they made of?
These shoes are made from partly recycled materials and a technical rubber outsole.
The synthetic textile upper provides plenty of flexibility and cuts the weight of these shoes down hugely. It's welded instead of stitching, reducing the bulk of the overall design to provide a smoother, glove-like fit and feel.
The lining is also synthetic to add durability and protection. It feels smooth to enhance comfort for long days on the trails.
An EVA sockliner provides exceptional durability, cushioning and comfort, and the shoes' midsoles are built with EnergyCell™. EnergyCell™ is a high-rebound, durable compound that cushions the foot and helps to absorb shock and impact for intense workouts.
The Mud Contagrip® soles offer optimum traction on loose, soft, rugged, or uneven terrain. They have deep, sharp, multi-directional lugs that can dig into mud and grip the ground, and are made from a rubber compound that prioritises adhesion. These outsoles also ensure mud is shed quicker and doesn't build up on the bottom of the trainers, enhancing their performance and grip at all times.
What are their features?
A Quicklace™ lacing system lessens bulk compared to a traditional style lace fastening. It allows you to tighten the fit of the shoes with just one simple pull, making it quick and easy to put on or remove the shoes or adapt the fit. Once adjusted, it can be tucked away into the tongue pocket to prevent it from snagging or catching.
As mentioned, built-in Gore-Tex® technology provides complete waterproof protection without hindering breathability. It allows vapour to escape yet blocks water droplets from getting inside, helping to relieve your feet from sweat and promote temperature regulation.
