What are the Makra Combi GTX Boots?
They're lightweight B1 alpine boots designed for Via Ferrata routes, alpine adventures and rocky approaches where you need something tough, reliable and waterproof. The Makra Combi GTXs will cope with anything you throw at them, a must-have piece of kit for any alpine explorer.
What are they made of?
The upper of these boots is made from a combination of suede and Cordura® with reinforced seams. Suede is incredibly durable and pliable, offering plenty of flexibility to deal with technical manoeuvres and steep ascents. Cordura® uses high tensile strength fibres that can withstand long-term wear and is highly abrasive, it can take a beating from rock and rugged surfaces easily.
They're lined with waterproof Gore-Tex® material and have a built-in Gore-Tex® membrane for maximum waterproof protection and breathability, keeping you both comfortable and protected from the elements at all times.
A technical Vibram® Pepe rubber outer sole provides ultimate stability on rock and loose surfaces. It is weight optimised and has an aggressive tread pattern with deep lugs for reliable grip and traction under the foot.
What are their features?
The Makra Combi GTXs are fastened with a full lace-up structure and optimised Ghilly lacing in the toes (a system of webbing loops and rings) for an accurate fit.
They have a soft cuff with a honeycomb construction to provide additional comfort and support around the ankle.
These boots also have a heel welt to accommodate semi-automatic crampons, ideal for keen alpinists and ice climbers.
