What are the Microlight Hut Slippers?
The Rab Microlight Hut Slippers are lightweight, insulated down slippers designed to keep your feet warm and cosy between adventures, whether you're in a tent, bothy or around camp after a long day.
Using 700FP down insulation, they provide efficient warmth with minimal weight, making them easy to carry on multi-day trips. The soft, sock-like fit keeps them comfortable and secure, while the packable design makes them easy to stash in your kit. They're best suited to use inside tents or huts, or light use around camp in dry conditions.
Materials & Technology
Pertex® Quantum with NetPlus® Outer
The slippers are built from a fully recycled Pertex® Quantum fabric with NetPlus® yarn made from recycled fishing nets.
NetPlus® is developed in partnership with Bureo, which collects discarded fishing nets from coastal communities and recycles them into high-performance nylon yarn. This helps tackle one of the most harmful forms of ocean plastic pollution while reducing reliance on virgin fossil fuels.
The fabric itself uses a blend of finer 20D yarns in one direction and tougher 30D yarns in the other, which creates a tight, highly durable weave that provides excellent levels of wind resistance with minimal bulk and weight.
700 Fill Power Hydrophobic Down
The slippers are filled with 46g of 700FP recycled down with Grangers hydrophobic finish for maximum loft (fluffiness) and warmth. This Recycled Down is made from a mix of different types of reclaimed down within the slippers, creating a unique, much more responsible type of insulation.
If you're a little unsure about what down actually is, it is made up of clusters of tiny feather strands that trap heat. As the down lofts (fluffs up) it can trap more warmth than if it were to be compacted into a small space. Most down insulation comes from ducks and geese, and Rab's recycled down uses a mixture of both.
The down is treated with a Grangers fluorocarbon-free Hydrophobic finish called Grangers Down Defend®. This hydrophobic down treatment is bluesign® approved and helps keep down lofted in damp conditions. It gives the down over 375x more durability than untreated down, extending the lifespan of your slippers.
Fluorocarbon-Free DWR Finish
The outer fabric is finished with a fluorocarbon-free DWR (durable water repellent) coating to provide light water resistance, allowing the slippers to perform better in damp conditions. However, please note that this does not make the slippers waterproof.
Features and Functionality
Sock-Like Fit
The slippers feature a comfortable, sock-like fit with a soft elasticated cuff around the ankle for a snug fit to help the slippers retain warmth and keep cold air out, while also making them easy to pop on and off.
Flexible Non-Slip Outsole
The soles of the slippers are soft and flexible to aid their packability, whilst a silicone print on the sole provides grip and traction on various surfaces around camp or inside mountain huts.
Removable Insole
A removable insole provides comfort for those who need it, whilst improving packability for minimalists who want to keep weight and pack size to a minimum, making them a light and cosy addition to your multi-day adventure kit.
Roll-Away Design
The slippers can be easily rolled away and secured in place with the rear elastic pull loop for compact storage inside your pack.
