What is the Fortes Nano Pull-On?
It's an ultra-light, synthetically insulated pull-on jacket, that offers the perfect amount of warmth for winter mountain running, OMM style races, climbing and fastpacking in cold climates.
Made from lightweight ripstop materials, with body-mapped Primaloft Active Vent insulation and air permeable technology, it manages moisture effectively and traps vital warmth for adaptable protection during various fast-paced mountain missions.
What is it made from?
Insulation: The Fortes Nano uses 40 g/m² of PrimaLoft® Gold Active Vent Insulation for breathable, lightweight warmth and low bulk, making it ideal for various fast-paced adventures in colder climates.
Primaloft® Gold Active is a synthetic insulation that provides ample warmth, even when wet. The ability to retain heat when wet is a huge advantage to synthetic insulation compared to down, alongside it being a vegan alternative. This insulation is also incredibly breathable and helps to regulate body temperature, balancing the body's microclimate when working hard. It's made from 80% recycled polyester, which, though recycled, maintains performance and feel. This insulation does not migrate and has a four-way stretch to enhance flexibility and freedom of movement - perfect for climbing, ski touring, or even using hiking poles.
Fabrics: Montane has used lightweight 12-denier Barrier Tough fabric for the outer fabric. This densely woven mini-ripstop material is made from recycled nylon yarns and is exceptionally abrasion-resistant for its weight, allowing it to withstand the rigours of mountain adventures whilst keeping the jacket's overall bulk to a minimum. This face fabric is finished with a PFC/PFAS FREE DWR (durable water repellent) coating to allow it to shed light rain and snow without the use of harmful forever chemicals. However, please note, this does not make the jacket waterproof.
For the lining, Montane have used a lighter-weight 10 denier recycled nylon ripstop fabric with Air Permeable Technology. This light, yet robust material is tough enough to withstand frequent use, yet highly air permeable to provide maximum breathability, manage moisture effectively for all-day comfort in the mountains.
All fabrics used in the Fortes Nano are Bluesign® approved, meaning they're manufactured in a way that is safe for the environment, workers and consumers. bluesign® certifications ensure that the materials used avoid harmful substances, use reduced air and water emissions, increase resource productivity, and the production line is more transparent and trustworthy.
What are its features?
Weighing just 205g, the Fortes Nano features a streamlined feature set to keep weight and pack size to a minimum. It does, however, feature a lightweight YKK Vislon Natulon recycled half-zip opening for quick and easy ventilation and flexible fabric cuffs to lock in vital warmth whilst allowing you to easily access at your sports watch on the move.
For storage, you'll find a single YKK zipped chest pocket for stashing your mobile phone or additional energy gels. The pocket is strategically placed to still be accessible when wearing a running vest or backpack.
The jacket uses various premium construction techniques to enhance its performance and longevity, such as offset seams throughout to improve durability across the seams, enhancing comfort levels and extending the jacket's lifespan. A 'Reach fit' construction provides improved arm lift and forward reach, helping to stop the jacket from riding up when moving dynamically.
Created with a close, trim fit for fast-moving adventures, the Fortes Nano features 360 reflective branding for increased visibility to others in low light settings.
Finally, the included cube stuff sack allows you to easily compress and pack the jacket down to store in your pack when not in use. It also doubles as a source of extra fabric should the jacket need to be repaired after years of frequent use, allowing you to extend its lifespan.
