What is the Tenacity Nano Hoodie?
It's a lightweight, stretchy softshell jacket that can adapt to changing conditions and activity levels to keep you comfortable and protected all day when moving fast in the mountains in mild climates.
What is it made from?
The Tenacity Nano Hoodie is made from Montane's Granite Stretch Nano, a superlight softshell material with excellent four-way stretch and recovery. Although lightweight, this fabric is highly durable and has excellent abrasion resistance, making the jacket ideal for use in various landscapes, from rugged mountainsides to long days out on the hill. The material also provides excellent moisture management and light wind resistance, to keep you protected and comfortable when moving fast in the mountains.
The jacket is finished with a PFC-free DWR (durable water repellent) coating to encourage light rain to bead off the fabric instead of soaking in, without using harmful forever chemicals that damage the environment and our ecosystems. However, please note this DWR coating only makes the jacket water-resistant, not waterproof. To maintain the jacket's water repellency, we suggest regularly washing it with specialist detergents designed to reapply the DWR coating, such as Granger's Clothing Wash and Repel or another similar product, which you can browse here.
What are its features?
Starting from the top, an under-helmet hood helps shield you from cold winds and light rain, whilst the binding around the edges provides a snug fit around the face to help it stay in place.
The jacket is fastened with a lightweight YKK front zipper to help keep weight and packsize to a minimum. A bonded front zip placket with an integrated chin guard helps prevent wind from penetrating through the zip, whilst improving overall comfort and packability.
Further weight savings are achieved through minimal, offset low-profile seams, which improve the jacket's durability while also allowing it to move and stretch with you to enhance your performance.
For storage, there are two YKK zipped hand pockets ideal for stashing a mobile phone, GPS device and trail snacks. The pockets are strategically placed to still be easily accessible when wearing a backpack or climbing harness.
Finally, an adjustable bottom hem allows you to dial in the fit around various layers, helping to seal cold winds out of the jacket and prevent it from riding up whilst you're moving fast.
