What is the Vardag Hydratic Anorak?

The Vardag Hydratic Anorak is a firm favourite with the Trekitt team! It's a waterproof, breathable anorak with a casual, retro style that is versatile enough to be worn casually every day or for hiking and trekking across multiple seasons.

What is it made of?

This anorak is made with Fjallraven's own Hydratic 2.5 layer material, which provides superb waterproof protection for wet days on the hill or in the city. Hydratic comprises recycled polyester, lessening its impact on the planet, which has a PU membrane and PFC-free impregnation to enhance its waterproof properties. By using PFC-free methods, this product's environmental impact is cut down even further by eliminating the use of perfluorinated chemicals, aka, 'forever chemicals'.

Though waterproof, Hydratic is highly breathable and can wick away moisture from the inside layer efficiently, meaning you won't be left feeling clammy if you're getting a little sweaty.

What are its features?

This garment has a nice matte finish that looks sophisticated and trendy. The design isn't overly technical, so this jacket doubles up nicely as a casual, everyday waterproof for various activities, whether commuting to work, walking in the countryside, taking the pooch for a stroll or heading into town.

It's smooth and comfortable next to the skin, should you just be wearing a t-shirt underneath, and fairly lightweight, weighing 449g (Size Medium). The Vardag Anorak also comes in a comfortable fit, allowing you to get plenty of layers underneath in the winter.

The hood is adjustable, meaning you could comfortably pop a beanie or hoodie underneath. A side zipper and half-length fastening on the front make it easy to put on or take off, both of which work well as additional ventilation for warmer climates.

Buttons on the hem keep the front and back pieces together when side zippers are undone, so you don't have to worry about them flapping around in the breeze!

Zippered hand pockets keep small belongings safe and secure, and velcro adjustments at the cuffs allow you to adapt the fit around midlayers, watches or gloves.

When you want to put it away, everything packs down into the zippered, top-loading mesh pocket bag, which can then be stuffed into a backpack or kit bag without taking up excessive space.
