What is the Bergtagen Touring 22?
It's a compact, well-thought-out 22-litre technical backpack made for various mountain pursuits across the seasons. With a fully customisable set-up, dedicated avalanche tool compartment and a versatile 3-way ski carry system, it's ideal for everything from lightweight ski touring to alpinism.
What is it made from?
Outer: The Bergtagen Touring 22 is made from super tough 210D recycled ripstop nylon. Created from recycled polyamide (nylon), it's highly abrasion-resistant to withstand the rigours of frequent use in the mountains.
The material features a PU laminate coating to provide excellent water resistance, with a hydrostatic head rating of 10,000mm, allowing the pack to easily shed light rain and snow. However, please note that this bag does not have taped seams and, therefore, is not completely waterproof.
Base: The pack's base is reinforced with exceptionally durable 500D recycled polyamide (nylon), allowing it to hold up to a lifetime of scrapes, bashes and abrasion whilst hiking in the hills and exploring the mountains.
Lining: Fjallraven have lined the pack with smooth yet robust recycled polyamide (nylon). It provides a soft lining so not to scratch more delicate belongings such as a phone and sunglasses whilst on the move, yet it is durable enough to withstand frequent loading and unloading of various gear over the years.
Fjallraven's recycled polyamide fabric is responsibly created yarn scraps, unusable second-quality fabrics, and fabric off-cuts, whilst still retaining the same exceptional durability and performance as virgin polyamide. It helps reduce the use of raw materials and non-renewable sources while reducing air, water and soil contamination.
What backsystem does it use?
The Bergtagen Touring 22 features a minimal backsystem for maximum snow shedding and a secure carry when moving fast downhill. It does, however, feature a moulded back panel and a supportive hipbelt for carrying comfort on longer days.
What are its features?
The pack features a spacious 22-litre main compartment with u-zip access and three zips for quick and convenient access into the pack. It offers ample room for storing the essentials such as a waterproof shell jacket, insulation and lunch.
On the front of the pack, there is a dedicated avalanche tool compartment and multiple pockets to store all your essentials, allowing them to be easily accessible in a hurry. The pack is also compatible with a hydration bladder for those who prefer a water bladder.
A versatile carrying system allows you to load up your skis or snowboard in 3 different ways, a-frame, vertically or diagonally, depending on the adventure. On the front of the pack, you'll find a 'hidden' pocket with a detachable helmet mesh so you can easily carry a helmet when not in use.
The Bergtagen Touring 22 features a wide range of multifunctional attachment straps with metal hooks and bungy cord loops for attaching a helmet, ice axes, or poles. All of these straps are removable, and the hip belt can be tucked away when not in use, allowing you to fully customise the pack to suit your needs. In true Fjallraven style, it's constructed with easily repairable details throughout, allowing it to withstand years of adventures in the mountains.
