What is the C Bar 2?
It's a two-person, three-season tent with a freestanding frame that is easy to pitch for multi-day adventures and backpacking trips. The C Bar has an easy set-up and provides complete waterproof protection for less-than-ideal conditions.
What is it made of?
Fly: The flysheet comprises polyester taffeta, which is lightweight yet durable enough to last in more rugged terrain. It has a polyurethane coating that gives it a hydrostatic head of 1500mm, making it completely waterproof yet breathable enough for you to get a comfortable night's kip. All seams are taped with a polyurethane tape to ensure that rainwater doesn't seep through the stitching, giving you reliable coverage.
Floor: Big Agnes has used the same material on the tent's base as the flysheet, so it has the same properties as above. You can also purchase the tent footprint separately for additional reinforcement and longevity when used in harsher conditions.
Mesh: Mesh is used for the tent body/inner of the C Bar. To be specific, it's a breathable polyester mesh that keeps your tent aired out nicely and provides versatility for humid conditions.
Poles: DAC Pressfit poles offer more precision when setting up your tent. Their configuration helps to prevent breakage and general wear and tear, increasing the longevity of your tent structure without adding excessive weight to your load.
This system's single-pole architecture and hub pole design make setting up and taking down the tent super easy, keeping all the sections together and interlinked for minimum faff.
Lightweight plastic clips attach the tent body to the pole frame, while velcro tabs connect the fly, keeping the material taught to maximise your space.
What are its features?
Entry: The single-head entrance and vestibule keep the tent simple, perfect for those seeking a more basic feature set for casual backpacking trips and camping adventures. It has a storm flap on the vestibule zip to ensure the weather doesn't seep into your tent when getting in or out. Plus, when leaving the entry point open on drier days, you can stash the door into the keeper to prevent it from flapping in the wind.
Space: This model has room for two people, or you could even use it for solo adventures if you prefer to have more space for yourself. It sits with just over a metre of headroom, allowing you to sit upright when needed, whether changing your clothes, making a brew or reading a book.
Storage: Three interior mesh pockets, including one oversized ceiling pocket, giving you plenty of organisation options for essentials you want to keep within reach. There are also multiple internal loops for additional attachments like Gear Lofts (sold separately) if needed.
Guylines, attachments and pegs: Pre-cut, reflective guylines and tensioners already linked to the fly make this tent ready-to-pitch right out of the bag! Corner webbing loops are durable and easy to attach - these are held down with the included ultra-light aluminium stakes.
Optional extras: To prolong the life of your tent, you can separately purchase a C Bar 2 Footprint to protect the underside.
If you're seeking extra storage, you can also purchase a Big Agnes Gear Loft that allows you to hang more of your belongings above the sleeping area; this tent is compatible with the Triangle, Trapezoid and Square Gear Lofts (also sold separately).
