What is the Solar Photon 2?
It's an ultra-light, two-person self-supporting tent, ideal for wild camping, trekking, multi-day hiking and fastpacking, when minimum weight is paramount.
What is it made from?
Fly: The flysheet is created from a lightweight 10D nylon ripstop fabric which is coated in high-pressure silicone for excellent water resistance, without the need for traditional DWR treatments. This coating delivers a hydrostatic head rating of 2,000mm to keep you dry when the weather’s not playing ball.
Inner: The tent's inner is created from a 20D ripstop fabric made from recycled nylon. This material is lightweight and highly durable, helping to keep the tent’s overall weight and bulk to a minimum without compromising on performance.
Floor: The tent's base uses Terra Nova's revolutionary 20D TriPlex™ fabric for excellent water resistance, durability and resistance to stretch when wet. TriPlex™ is a triple ripstop polyester and nylon weave fabric which is lightweight, stable and highly durable. The fabric is made from recycled materials sourced from post-consumer plastic bottles and PFC-free fibres. It's also solution-dyed to further add to this material's excellent eco-credentials.
It's also fully encased with a high-pressure silicone coating on both sides for excellent water resistance. This clever silicone coating delivers a reliable hydrostatic head rating of 3,000mm to ensure you stay nice and dry in your tent when pitching on damp ground.
Poles: 8.7mm DAC NFL tent poles keep this fantastic tent stable and upright. They're incredibly strong and are made of lightweight aluminium to ensure they don't add too much weight to your trekking pack.
What are its features?
Entry: The Solar Photon 2 has a single entry point at the front of the sleeping quarters for easy access in and out of the tent. The sleeping quarters entry uses a fully mesh door for maximum ventilation and airflow throughout the tent, helping to keep condensation levels to a minimum.
Space: The tent offers ample room for two campers to sleep shoulder to shoulder, whilst a roomy vestibule offers space for storing bulky or wet items of kit.
Guys, Attachments & Pegs: Reflective Dyneema® guylines increase visibility in low light and help to prevent literal night-time trips.
Lightweight alloy pegs keep the tent firmly planted to the floor and offer various pitching options depending on different terrain.
