What is the Aconcagua Light ML Jacket?
It's a super stretchy, lightweight fleece, built for summer activities and those in-between seasonal periods. It makes an ideal midlayer for ski touring, mountaineering, climbing and hiking, or it could even be worn casually around town and in the pub.
What is it made of?
This piece comprises bluesign® certified Polartec® Power Grid™ made from a blend of recycled polyester knit and elastane that feels lightweight, warm, and really stretchy! It has a durable polyamide mesh lining that breathes well and is soft against the skin.
Power Grid™ uses a patented grid construction developed to strengthen performance efficiency by increasing its warmth and breathability without adding excessive weight. The geometric patterns improve packability and enhance its moisture wicking properties to create an incredibly functional fleece with a technical style - ideal for demanding ascents and missions in changeable conditions.
The bluesign® certification ensures that these materials are sustainable and safe for the environment, consumers and workers involved in handling and manufacturing the material/product.
What are its features?
The Aconcagua Light has a high, tightly-sealing collar that provides maximum coverage and helps retain heat to regulate the body temperature effectively.
There are two side pockets for storing smaller items like a mobile phone, keys, a wallet or snacks and energy gels to keep you fuelled on the hill. The pockets have mesh bags that work well as ventilation if you need it - just leave the zippers undone until you've dumped enough heat to fasten them back up again. Each pocket also has a zipper fastening that operates smoothly for extra security and minimal faff.
