What are the Abisko Shorts?
They are durable, hardwearing shorts made with stretchy material, designed primarily for trekking in warmer climates. However, the Abisko Shorts are comfortable for outdoor activities like hiking, camping, bushcraft, or even casually down to the pub on a Friday evening.
What are they made of?
Fjallraven has used its own G1000® Eco material to construct the Abisko Shorts. It comprises recycled polyester, organic cotton and elastane stretch to provide flexibility, comfort and durability without the weight and bulk of conventional materials.
G1000® materials can be adapted to different personal preferences or climatic conditions using Greenland Wax. The wax allows you to customise the fabric's properties, such as wind and water resistance and breathability.
Greenland Wax is easy to apply - you can literally do it anywhere! If you'd like to learn more about how to apply it correctly, check out our short YouTube tutorial by clicking here.
What are their features?
The waist is higher at the back than the front to give you a more natural, comfortable fit and help prevent the hems at the back of these shorts from raising awkwardly when worn.
They have a fly fastening at the front and belt loops that allow you to wear a belt (of course) or hook accessory carabiners for extra carry.
There are plenty of storage options to choose from, including two hand pockets, a larger leg pocket, a smaller inner mesh pocket, handy for keys and emergency cash, and an additional pocket for cell phones and GPS devices.
To give you an idea of the length of these shorts, they have an inseam of 29cm/11.5 inches in size 48.
