What are the Nordwand Pro HS Pants?
They're hardcore trousers built for extreme alpine touring, mountaineering and hardcore expeditions in changeable climates. The Nordwand Pro HS Pants were specifically developed for tackling challenging ascents. Whether it's the Eiger, Matterhorn or Grand Jorasses, they'll offer supreme protection and durability to help you reach the summit.
What are they made of?
Mammut has designed these trousers using durable 80D nylon Gore-Tex® Pro with a stretch insert, built-in 'Most Rugged' technology, and a solution-dyed backer for more sustainable production, significantly reducing water consumption in the manufacturing process.
Nylon is incredibly durable, and at 80D, it can easily withstand a good beating from rugged terrain and jagged rocks.
Gore-Tex® Pro offers exceptional waterproof protection for optimum defence against the elements. It has a partial stretch insert to promote flexibility and freedom of movement for steep, technical ascents, and added 'Most Rugged' technology for optimum longevity.
Gore-Tex® has specially developed their Most Rugged technology to increase a material's strength and scratch resistance while still offering reliable weather protection.
What are their features?
These trousers come with detachable braces that have a flat closure system. They help keep them comfortable and in place so you can focus on your performance rather than your pants falling down!
The waistband is wide and raised for better coverage and increased mobility. You can adjust it from the outside using the Hypalon hook and loop adjusters that allow you to get a precise fit every time. It has a mesh insert that promotes moisture management to keep you comfortable if you're working up a sweat.
There are 3/4 length ventilation zippers at each side, allowing you to dump heat quickly with minimal faff. The zippers are two-way and water repellent to help prevent water or snow from seeping through the fastening.
For storage, two climbing harness-compatible pockets on the front provide plenty of space for snacks and energy gels, both of which are secured with waterproof zips.
Hypalon hook and loop adjustments on the leg allow you to adapt the volume and width to your activity, and built-in Mammut Gaiter Solution™ technology optimises the fit around chunky mountaineering or ski boots.
To finish, all seam edges are reinforced, and Dyneema® patches are added near the hem for extra protection against crampons.
