What are the Terra Stretch XT Pants?
The Terra Stretch XT Pants are incredibly durable, stretchy and comfortable technical mountain pants ideal for winter mountaineering, alpinism, scrambling, climbing, and hiking on exposed mountain trails.
With kevlar reinforcements, they offer reliable and robust protection from the elements whilst being comfy enough to wear for long periods and multi-day ascents.
They're an excellent choice for mountaineering instructors, mountain leaders, mountain rescue volunteers and those who spend long days in challenging environments.
What are they made from?
The Tenacity XT Pants are constructed from a highly durable four-way stretch fabric called Granite Stretch Thermal, composed of 50% Nylon, 42% Polyester and 8% Elastane.
As you may have guessed, Granite Stretch Thermal is super stretchy and thermally efficient, making them ideal for steep ascents and more technical scrambles in cold conditions, where you need a higher range of movement and warm muscles ready for the challenge.
This high-performance face fabric is also highly abrasion and wind-resistant, providing reliable protection against the elements and your surroundings. It's also been treated with a PFC-Free DWR (durable water repellent) to enhance water-resistance without the use of harmful forever chemicals.
The instep of the Tencity XT Pants is reinforced with Schoeller® Keprotec® Kevlar®, which is a super durable blend of Nylon and Aramid (Kevlar) to protect this high-wear area from scuffs and abrasion caused by rocky mountainsides, chunky mountaineering boots and crampons.
What are their features?
The Terra Stretch XT Pants feature pre-articulated knees and a gusseted crotch for a natural range of movement whilst manoeuvring across steep and technical terrain.
Mesh-lined ventilation zips allow you to dump heat quickly whilst building up a sweat on a steep climb.
A low-profile waistband with a secure snap opening with a zipped fly for easy access when nature calls.
For storage, there is a total of four pockets, all with reliable YKK zips for added security. The two mesh pockets provide space for storing small possessions and also double up as extra ventilation, simply leave them unzipped to allow airflow through the mesh bags.
The front thigh pocket and rear pocket are more suitable for storing bulkier items like a mobile phone, wallet or GPS device, keeping them out of the way so they don't hinder your movement.

The Terra Stretch XT Pants feature Montane's regular fit, which is their standard fit that provides enough room for movement for most outdoor activities.
