What are they made of?
There's a clue in the name - these pants use Billy Goat Canvas, made from an eco-conscious blend of responsibly harvested organic cotton and TENCEL™ Modal. The material is naturally breathable and has the freedom of stretch for optimum comfort and flexibility.
TENCEL™ Modal is an eco-friendly, biodegradable and compostable material that uses fibres from naturally grown beech wood using a responsible pulp-to-fibre process. The process is self-sufficient in energy and recovers co-products from component parts of the wood. The fibre itself is renowned for its exceptional softness, giving the trousers a luxurious feel without compromising function and durability.
They're lined with a polyester microfleece on the legs and organic cotton TENCEL™ Modal plaid flannel on the waist and cuffs for low bulk, country-style comfort.

What makes these trousers so versatile is their simple, stripped-back design that looks casual yet performs similarly to a technical softshell trouser. As mentioned, the materials provide plenty of durability and warmth for cold, dry days on the hill and are stretchy enough to feel comfortable on steeper ascents or short, low level scrambles.
