What are the Compass Shorts?
The Compass Shorts feature a versatile design and are made with durable, protective materials that provide day-long comfort for hiking, hill walking or everyday errands. They work well both on the hill and around town.
What are they made of?
These shorts are made with TecWEAVE™ Stretch, a blend of nylon and elastane, which feels smooth on the skin. TecWEAVE™ Stretch, as you may have guessed, is super stretchy and offers supreme freedom of movement for various activities, enhancing comfort tenfold. The blend is also lightweight yet durable enough to endure a beating in different terrains and conditions throughout the year.
For days when fully exposed to the sun, the material has a handy UPF 50+ rating to provide sufficient protection from those harmful rays.
The material is impregnated with a PFC-free durable water repellent (DWR), adding to the material's water resistance and encouraging light rain to bead away. However, please note that this doesn't mean that they're fully waterproof.
Perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs) used in earlier DWRs can't 'break down', so once they reach nature (usually via water waste from factories), they stay out in the environment and contaminate living organisms, working their way up the food chain. PFC's are suspected carcinogens and have been known to affect reproduction and hormone production in mammals. For these reasons, many brands are now using PFC-free alternatives to reduce the impact manufacturing has on our beautiful planet.
What are their features?
The Compass Shorts have a semi-elasticated waistband to help prevent you from feeling restricted on the move. The waistband is lined with a soft tricot lining for next-to-skin, moisture-wicking comfort and fastened with a simple zip fly.
Belt loops allow you to wear a belt or hook accessories, such as keys or small pieces of gear, onto your shorts for easy access.
For storage, these shorts feature two zipped hand pockets, and one zipped security pocket that works perfectly for keeping your phone out of the way.
The leg length of these shorts is approximately 27.5cm, providing plenty of coverage without being excessively long.
