What are the Fission SV Gloves?
The Fission SV Gloves are Arc'teryx's warmest, most protective gloves. Featuring a leather palm and fingers, a Gore-Tex membrane and Primaloft Silver/Gold insulation, they're perfect for snowsports, climbing and mountaineering.
What are they made of?
Outer fabric: The outer of the gloves are constructed from a mix of high quality goat leather and Arc'teryx's own Fortius 1.0. Leather is placed across the palm and fingers for optimum durability while using ropes and tools, while Fortius is used for the rest of the glove to maximise breathability, weight and comfort.
Membrane: Underneath this, a Gore-Tex Active membrane provides total wind and waterproofing, ensuring your hands stay dry and comfortable in cold, wet conditions. This 'Active' variant of Gore-Tex increases the breathability even more over the standard version by making the holes in the membrane ever-so-slightly bigger to allow more sweat vapour to pass through without allowing water droplets to enter.
Insulation: A mix of PrimaLoft Silver and Gold insulation takes care of warmth inside the glove. PrimaLoft provides high amounts of warmth without the weight and bulk, even while wet. As well as providing tonnes of reliable warmth, this insulation is 90% recycled.
Lining: Finally, sitting next to your skin is a soft, moisture wicking Octa Loft fabric. Not only does this manage moisture and provide a soft surface for your hand to sit against, but it makes the glove quicker and easier to remove.
What are the features?
A webbing loop allows both of the gloves to be clipped together and hung off a carabiner, while an elasticated wrist strap prevents snow and debris making their way into the glove.
