What are the Fission SV Mittens?
The Fission SV is one of Arc'teryx's warmest, most protective mitts. Featuring a leather palm, a Gore-Tex membrane and Primaloft Silver/Gold insulation, they're perfect for virtually any cold-weather outdoor activity.
What are they made of?
Outer fabric: The outer of the mitts are constructed from a mix of high-quality goat leather and Arc'teryx's own Fortius 1.0. Leather is placed across the palm and fingers for optimum durability while using ropes and tools, while Fortius is used for the rest of the mitt to maximise breathability, weight and comfort.
Membrane: Underneath this, a Gore-Tex Active membrane provides total wind and waterproofing, ensuring your hands stay dry and comfortable in cold, wet conditions.
Insulation: A mix of PrimaLoft Silver and Gold insulation takes care of warmth inside the mitt. PrimaLoft provides high amounts of warmth without the weight and bulk, even while wet. As well as providing tonnes of reliable warmth, this insulation is 90% recycled.
Lining: Finally, sitting next to your skin is a soft, moisture-wicking Octa Loft fabric. Not only does this manage moisture and provide a soft surface for your hand to sit against, but it makes the mitt quicker and easier to remove.
What are the features?
A webbing loop allows both of the mitts to be clipped together and hung off a carabiner, while an elasticated wrist strap prevents snow and debris from making their way in.
