What is the Cormac Hoody?
The Cormac Hoody is Arc'teryx's answer to protective yet comfortable outdoor wear for the summer seasons. This hoody is constructed using light Ostria™ to create a stretchy, breathable layer with UPF 50 protection.
What is it made of?
The Cormac Hoody uses a lightweight Ostria™ gridded fabric with a long lasting Durable Anti Odour (DAO) finish.
Ostria™ is a gridded 100% polyester fabric made of moisture wicking yarn, it offers excellent stretch, breathability and next-to-skin comfort. Built in moisture wicking technology quickly wicks sweat away from the skin to prevent the feeling of damp, clingy fabric in warmer climates, also helping to regulate body temperature.
What are its features?
With an overall stretchy feel that is comfortable next to the skin, this makes a perfect lightweight layer for the spring and summer seasons. The Ostria™ fabric has an anti odour finish to help you stay fresh during long days at your local crag, alongside a UPF 50 protection for tackling more exposed routes.
The hood offers additional shielding against the sun for your face, neck and ears. It's helmet compatible, so the hood will fit over your climbing helmet when you're wearing it, making it much easier to put up or bring down in the middle of an ascent.
The long sleeve design offers a breathable layer to cover the arms without restricting movement, so you can reach for the next hold with ease. Thumb loops sit by the cuff of the sleeve, which help to keep the sleeves pulled down and in place when you're on the move, also providing extra sun protection for the wrists and hands.
The hoody is cut in an articulated pattern which provides extra space in crucial movement areas, allowing improved mobility.
The versatile, casual look of the hoody doesn't jump limit you to the mountains. Wear it on a summer's day walking your dog in the local park or even lounging around the house.
How does it fit?
The hoody is designed with the Arc'teryx regular fit, so it hangs a little loose on the body to help you feel cool and comfortable all day long.
Where does it fit in the layering system?
This piece can be worn alone, next to the skin, on hot days for lightweight protection against the sun or as a midlayer hoody for extra warmth.
