What is the Remige Hoody? The Remige uses a comfortable, technical fabric as your standard baselayer would, but adds long sleeves and a slim hood to add further sun protection in warmer environments. Use it as a protective baselayer or wear it as a lightweight midlayer to add extra warmth in cooler temperatures.
What is it made of?The Remige is made from Arc'teryx's own Thalden fabric. This fabric is stretchy, soft next to skin and features a UPF 50+ sun rating, protecting you from harsh UV rays where a standard short-sleeved baselayer would fail. As well as providing sun protection, this fabric will wick away sweat during use, keeping you cooler for longer. As if that wasn't enough, a Silvadur anti-microbial coating is applied to this fabric to prevent odours from building up over time. Be warned though, you'll never want to take this hoody off once you've got it on; you forget you're wearing it after a while as it's so comfortable!
What are the features?Starting at the top, you've got a slim fitting stretch-on hood with a stiffened brim to provide extra sun protection. Gusseted underarms increase the overall comfort when using it for more technical pursuits, while hidden thumb loops keep the sleeves pulled over your hands for, you guessed it, sun protection.
How does it fit?The Remige fits into Arc'tery'x 'regular' fit block, however, in practice we'd say it's on the slim side. The slim fit allows it to effectively wick away sweat when you're working hard.
Where does it fit in the layering system? The Remige can either be used as a protective baselayer or a midlayer over a short-sleeved baselayer to add a little extra warmth.
