You will be able to navigate directly to pre-set coordinates, follow a created track or route, be guided to stored waypoints or simply follow any other selected bearing. The TracBack function guides you back along a previously recorded tracklog so you can easily find your way to the safety of your starting point. Routes can be created on Basecamp which is Garmin's free mapping software. Information can be shared wirelessly using ANT+ and Bluetooth to other Garmin devices or smartphones.
Tactix uses ABC sensors (altimeter, barometer and compass) to provide relevant real-time information. The built-in altimeter provides elevation data to accurately monitor ascent and descent, while the barometer can be used to predict weather changes by showing short-term trends in air pressure. The 3-axis electronic compass displays your bearing whether you’re moving or not. Tactix automatically calibrates the ABC sensors using its GPS receiver and also automatically sets the time based on location.
This brilliant watch can also provide you with full training functions including real time performance data, such as distance, pace, cadence and calories indoors or outdoors. Additional training functions are Auto-Pause to accurately record actual training data, Virtual Partner to motivate your sessions and the ability to build custom workouts. Pair the Tactix with the optional Garmin Heart Rate Monitor Belt to recieve full heart rate information.
Jumpmaster software was developed to follow military guidelines for calculating High Altitude Release Point (HARP) and can automatically detect when you have jumped to start navigating to the Desired Impact Point (DIP) using the barometer and electronic compass.
As well as all these amazing features the Tactix tells the time, has a sun/moon calendar, alarm, timer, stopwatch and world clock with automatic time zone calibration.
