What are the Featherlite Down Pants?
The Featherlite Down Pants offer warm, packable insulation for a variety of different cold-weather activities. They are lightweight and are the perfect piece to chuck on at camp, in your bivvy or in the mountain huts at the end of the day.
What are the Featherlite Down Pants made from?
Insulation: The Featherlite Down Pants use 140g of super high quality 800+ fill power goose down to ensure the highest levels of warmth comparative to the weight and pack size. Not only is down one of the lightest forms of insulation available but one of the most compressible too, allowing the Featherlite to stuff into its Montane stuff sack.
This down is coated in HyperDry, a water repellent, fluorocarbon-free treatment that reduces the amount of time the down takes to dry if it happens to get wet. It also increases the loft of the down, maintaining so warmth if they do happen to get wet. Montane only use R.D.S (responsible down standard) certified down and a system called ‘Track My Down’ that allows you to track the content of your trousers back to the original source.
Outer Fabric: Keeping all that beautiful down in place is a lightweight Pertex Quantum outer fabric that offers a degree of water and wind resistance. The great thing about this fabric is that although it is not water or windproof, it is far more breathable than a fabric that is, meaning you’ll stay nice and tasty with less sweating! It is also 100% recycled making it incredibly planet friendly!
Lining: The inside of the trousers feature a PEAQ down lining which is soft and comfortable next to the skin. The tight weave also helps keep all the down in place and stops it from escaping.
What are the features?
The trousers feature a pre-elasticated waist with an adjustable drawcord to adjust the trousers to your desired fit, and a zipped fly to make the trousers easy to pull down when you need to relieve yourself. Down the side of each leg, there is a 3/4 length two-way zip, giving you easy access into and out of the trousers, as well as allowing you to partially unzip them for extra ventilation. The low profile hem cuffs help keep you warm and protect you from drafts. Pocket wise, the Featherlite pants are equipped with two fully insulated front handwarmer pockets which are big enough to fit your hands in when wearing gloves. You can also stash your hand warmers, compass and phone in there. The Featherlite Down Pants also come with a Stuff Sack so you can stash these pants away in your rucksack and take them out when your reach camp in the evening.
