What is the X Ultra 4 Mid?
The X Ultra 4 Mid is a firm favourite with the Trekitt team. It is a lightweight, supportive, waterproof mid-height boot suited to long days in the hills and casual strolls through the countryside. These shoes feature various protective details that allow you to feel confident no matter what terrain you choose to adventure on.
What is it made of?
Upper: The upper material is a tough, breathable PU-coated leather that naturally provides excellent durability and protection for outdoor activities.
Membrane: The upper is backed by a Gore-Tex® membrane to provide complete waterproof protection to the entire shoe. A repellent treatment is then applied to provide extra reinforcement, ensuring that water beads off the surface instead of soaking in.
Lining: To help move moisture away from your foot, the X Ultra 4's feature a soft, breathable mesh and textile lining for day-long comfort.
Midsole: Salomon uses their EnergyCell EVA foam inside the X Ultra 4 to provide cushioning and shock absorption.
Footbed: The OrthoLite insole is moulded to match the contours of your foot and provides superior cushioning, breathability and durability to enhance the shoe's comfort and performance.
Outsole: The All Terrain Contagrip MA outsole is built for a variety of surfaces. It balances both the geometry and the rubber compound to deliver confidence on wet, dry, hard or loose surfaces and offer long-term durability. A Chevron Lug design digs in deep and provides a multi-directional grip, improving traction on soft surfaces like mud or loose dirt.
What are the features?
The construction in the upper shoe features 'Active Support', which utilises mobile wings to help hold the foot in place and accompany its movement, adapting to its shape and volume.
The mid-height cuff is super comfy and gives you that extra bit of protection when moving on uneven terrain.
The Advanced Chassis™ protects ankle articulations on the outer foot and provides additional stability while keeping the front of the shoe flexible for a more natural step.
A gusseted tongue connects to the upper on both sides, preventing debris from entering the shoe and keeping the tongue centred.
SensiFit™ cradles the foot from the midsole to the lacing system, providing a secure, snug, and virtually customised fit around the foot. A rubber wrap around the base of the foot acts as a mudguard to protect the lateral and medial sides of the foot on uneven, rocky terrain.
