What are the Cirrus Hut Slippers?
The Cirrus Hut Slippers are insulated camp slippers designed to give your feet a well-earned rest after a long day in hiking boots, mountaineering boots or climbing shoes. They're perfect for relaxing in mountain huts, tents, bothies or simply around the house. Light, packable and warm, they offer instant cosy comfort for your feet in cold climates.
Now featuring an updated recycled Pertex® Quantum with NetPlus® and PrimaLoft® Silver Luxe recycled insulation, for maximum performance and packability with a minimal environmental impact.
Materials & Technology
Recycled Pertex® Quantum with NetPlus®
The Cirrus Hut Slippers are made from an exclusive, fully recycled Pertex® Quantum fabric with NetPlus® yarn made from recycled fishing nets.
NetPlus® is developed in partnership with Bureo, which collects discarded fishing nets from coastal communities and recycles them into high-performance nylon yarn. This helps tackle one of the most harmful forms of ocean plastic pollution while reducing reliance on virgin fossil fuels.
The fabric itself uses a blend of finer 20D yarns in one direction and tougher 30D yarns in the other, which creates a tight weave that keeps the material's weight low, without impacting its levels of durability.
Overall, the materials offer the same lightweight, wind-resistant performance as before, just with an even more responsible and slightly lighter construction.
PrimaLoft® Silver Insulation Luxe (Recycled)
For warmth, the slippers use 50g of PrimaLoft® Silver Rise synthetic insulation, which is made from 100% recycled polyamide from post-consumer recycled material.
PrimaLoft® Silver Rise is lightweight and highly durable insulation with a unique construction that allows it to resist compression. It boasts an impressive warmth-to-weight ratio comparable to high-quality natural down without any of the faff, making it a great vegan-friendly alternative to down that can still perform even when wet - ideal for use in tents, huts or variable conditions where moisture is hard to avoid.
Fluorocarbon-Free DWR Finish
The slippers are finished with a fluorocarbon-free DWR (durable water repellent) coating to encourage moisture, such as condensation or light spills, to bead off the material instead of soaking in, without the use of harmful forever chemicals. However, please note this does not make the material waterproof.
Features and Functionality
Lightweight Packability
The slippers feature a lightweight and packable design that can compress down small to take up minimal space in your rucksack or trekking pack, making them an excellent addition to your kit. They're the kind of item you might question packing, but after a long day out on the hill, your feet will be very glad you did!
Cushioned EVA Footbed
A soft EVA footbed provides underfoot cushioning to help your feet recover and adds a layer of separation from cold hut floors or tent ground to help further protect your feet from the cold.
Non-Slip Outsole
The flexible outsole is designed to provide reliable grip on various types of indoor flooring surfaces. Whether you're moving around a wooden hut floor or stepping outside onto slightly damp ground, it offers enough traction to feel secure without adding unnecessary weight or stiffness to the slippers.
Rear Pull Loops
The slippers feature rear pull loops at the heel to make getting them on easier - a small yet practical feature that helps when your hands are cold, you're wearing chunky socks, or you've still got your gloves on.
Elasticated Entry
The elasticated edging around the opening allows you to easily pop the slippers on and off quickly, whilst keeping them securely around the foot, reducing drafts and keeping warmth in without needing any adjustments.
