What are the Trekker Lite III Wide GTXs?
They're robust and lightweight trekking boots inspired by Aku's Tegu Lite boots. Comfortable and waterproof, they're exceptionally versatile and ideal for hiking in varied conditions and terrain, whether you're doing the three peaks challenge or hill-walking in the Lake District.
What are they made from?
Upper: The upper is constructed from a 1.6mm suede leather that is complemented by Air 8000 and Microfiber. The suede and microfiber offer excellent levels of durability, whilst the Air 8000 keeps the breathability levels high.
Lining: The Trekker Lite III's are lined with a waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort membrane. It provides maximum comfort in various climates, keeping your feet dry in wet weather while still allowing moisture vapour to escape when you're working hard.
Midsole: The midsole is constructed from double-density PU which is hard enough to contribute to the support of the boots, yet soft enough to help absorb the impact of hiking long, rugged trails.
Outsole: For traction, The Trekker Lite III use a Vibram® Curcuma outsole which is a durable and aggressive sole that features a heel to dig into the ground while descending and a climbing zone area at the front of the boot. This 'climbing zone' is simply a flat, edged part of the boot which can be used to negotiate narrow ledges and technical terrain easier.
How do they fit?
The Trekker Lite III Wide GTX use Aku's wide Women's Fit Last, which is specifically developed for the female foot anatomy, that prioritises comfort and stability when walking on mountain trails with uneven ground whilst allowing for a little extra room across the forefoot for wider feet.
