What is it made of?
The foundation of the Mescalito Trek Planet GTX is a durable Vibram Ecostep Evo compound sole unit with a 30% recycled rubber content. Its midsole is made from PU to provide comfort and support, even when carrying a heavy backpack.
The boot upper is made from a single piece of innovative Perspair® fabric. It is woven with 45% recycled yarns and super-durable Hypertex on high wear points for lightweight, breathable, high-performance construction.
Its waterproof membrane is made from a sustainable 3-layer Gore-Tex Flux made from 98% recycled fabrics while retaining excellent water repellence.
What are its features?
These innovative boots feature a Vibram Ecostep Evo compound sole with a versatile tread pattern, distinct heel crash pad and toe-off zone, providing excellent grip and stability on various terrain.
A sustainable Gore-Tex Flux 3-layer waterproof membrane provides excellent protection from the elements, helping to keep your boots dry and lightweight during a long-wet hike.
Abrasion-resistance PU-TEK inserts have been added for increased durability in key areas, allowing you to scramble across rocky terrain without damaging your boots. They also feature a slightly broader and deeper fit than the original Scarpa Mescalito shoes, allowing space for thicker socks for more cushioning.
These boots use the same PU stiffener technology on the ankle cuffs as Scarpa's Mont Blanc Mountaineering boots. This creates a lightweight but supportive cradle around the ankle, giving you all the necessary support for tackling even the longest of trails.
