What is it made from?
The Divide Fusion Hoodie is ethically crafted from Toray 20D four-way stretch fabric, Fuse powered RDS ExpeDry Ultra Dry Down and Lavalan Sport European wool. Sound's like a bit of a mouthful, right? Let's break it down.
Outer: The Divide Fusion Hoodie's outer is a breathable Toray 20D woven fabric that protects its naturally high-performing insulation. This soft face fabric has a durable four-way stretch for an excellent range of mobility and is treated with a PFC-Free DWR (durable water repellent) treatment to encourage light rain and snow to bead off the material instead of soaking in.
If you're wondering, the PFC-Free bit means no harmful forever chemicals are used in this process. In fact, Artilect is very proud to be one of the first performance apparel brands whose fabrics, shells, insulations and linings are all 100% PFA/PFC- free and free from any other harmful forever chemicals, without compromising on performance.
Panels: The side panels, hood, lower back and back of the sleeve are all constructed from the same 40D two-layer, four-way stretch material, which protects the natural wool insulation in these areas, but we'll get to that in a moment.
This fabric is highly air permeable to allow excess heat to escape to aid the jacket's fantastic thermoregulation and is treated with an innovative Empel DWR for permanent water resistance. Empel DWR's uses uniform polymers that individually wrap each of the fabric's fibres with a protective molecular bonded water-repellent shield. This creates a super-hydrophobic exterior to the material that provides 10 times more protection than regular DWR's.
Empel DWR's are hurricane chamber tested for reassurance that they can withstand real-world use. They also won't wear out or ever need to be reapplied as the water resistance is hyper-fused to the actual fibres of the fabric. This treatment also enhances the breathability and softness of the material, all while being water, solvent and PFA/PFC free! Oh, and to top it all off, it's also Oeko-Tex certified.
Insulation: The Divide Fusion Hoodie uses a combination of strategically placed Allied RDS ExpeDry Ultra Dry 700 fill power Down and 60gsm Lavalan Sport European Wool for optimal thermal performance and moisture management.
The main body of the jacket and sleeves are filled with 700 fill power ExpeDry Ultra Dry Down, which was created by Allied Feather + Down, the world leader in traceable Responsible Down Standard (RDS) down, and is a game-changing advance in thermal, moisture protection and sustainability.
This insulation utilises Gold-Nano fuze technology to permanently bond non-toxic gold particles to the individual clusters of down to aid the evaporation of water molecules. This allows the down to dry 40-50% faster and stay dry longer than untreated down, allowing it to fully loft (trap warm air) quicker and easier in damp conditions.
This innovative hydrophobic technology is chemical-free, PFC, PFA, C-6 free and is also bluesign® approved and makes the Divide Fusion Hoodie exceptionally well suited to intense mountain activities when regulating moisture control and body temperature is key.
The jacket's side panels, underarms and hood are insulated with 60gsm Lavalan Sport European Wool; high-tech by nature, this Lavalan wool harnesses the power of millions of years of nature's R&D. It offers superior thermoregulation, excellent moisture management and unrestricted breathability, making it well-suited for high-output activities in cold climates when you don't want to overheat as soon as the going gets tough!
This natural wool insulation is also compression resistant, meaning that its ability to fully loft won't reduce over time. It's also naturally odour resistant, meaning you can wear the jacket for more extended periods between washes without offending your adventure buddies!

An elastic-bound hood with an adjustable and snug fit, shields you from the elements and exposed conditions. It's fully insulated with Lavalan Wool and protected by Artilect's fantastic Empel DWR.
The centre front zip features an innovative YKK® Touchlink™ zipper that links with your smartphone and the Lifekey™ software platform, enhancing the product's functionality. This YKK Touchlink™ is a communications technology that provides access to digital functionality, sharing experiences and Lifekey safety features. Powered by NFC technology (same technology that powers Apple and Andriod pay), Touchlink™ serves as an access point to the internet when touched by a smartphone. The passive NFC technology is encased in a durable molded TPU zipper pull designed to handle the abuses of everyday living. Built to endure a lifetime of laundering, severe weather, and rugged use the technology is always on, has no moving parts and requires no power source. Neat, right?
For storage, there is a plethora of zippered pockets for storing all your adventure gear and trail snacks close to hand.
