90-day returns period

DPD Returns Portal
We hope that you are perfectly happy with your order from Trekitt, but we understand that sometimes you may need to return an item. We offer a 90-day returns period from the date of purchase and aim to process all returns within 48 working hours of receipt. During exceptionally busy periods, returns may take up to 7 working days to be processed.

We do not offer a free returns service. If using the DPD Returns Portal, a charge of £5 will be deducted from your refund when processed. Returns from Highlands and Islands using the DPD Returns Portal will deduct £15.50 from the order refund. Large DPD returns will have £6 deducted from their refund. (Specifications are over 5kg, and over Length of 30cm x width of 30cm and height of 10cm). If customers are returning items using their own postal service, and our returns form, all customers are responsible for any postage costs when returning any goods (excluding warranty returns).

THIS BIT IS IMPORTANT - due to a technical issue with YEEP lockers, we are currently advising customers not to use them and to drop parcels off at a DPD Pickup Shop. Using a YEEP locker may significantly delay your parcel being returned to us and your refund being issued.

We are not liable for delays once an order has been dispatched. However, we will always work with the courier to assist in resolving any delivery issues where possible.
If an order has not been received, customers must contact us within 14 days of dispatch so that we can investigate and assist accordingly.

If you have returned an item using the DPD returns portal and have not received confirmation of your refund, you must contact us within 14 days of dispatching your return so we can investigate. After this period, we may be unable to investigate or raise a claim.

We do not offer a free returns service. Customers returning items using their own postal service and our returns form are responsible for any postage costs when returning goods (excluding warranty returns).

To return an item to us, you must first:

  • Appropriately package your item in protective packaging, failure to do so will invalidate your rights to a full refund or return (including footwear boxes which can be damaged in transit/customer care if not protected)

If you feel that your item is defective/broken/faulty and it is still under warranty, please contact our Customer Support team ([email protected]) with as much information as possible with regards to the fault, including photos if applicable.

In return, they will supply you with a Returns Authorisation Number (RAN), a Returns Form and a FREE postage label. Please complete the returns form with as much detail as possible and include it with your item.

We cannot make any decisions before inspecting any claim. Should the item be found genuinely faulty, we aim to reach a fair and agreed solution, which may be a refund, a replacement or a professional repair.

We do not offer exchanges. Instead we ask you kindly to complete a new order for the desired replacement and return the unwanted Good(s) for a refund. We acknowledge that this might seem more complicated, we can assure you it is by far the most efficient and fastest way to ensure that you receive the goods you require.

Any returns sent back requesting an exchange will be refunded in line with our returns process.

You can exchange internet purchases at the Trekitt Service Centre in Hereford, to speed things along please remember to present the sales invoice supplied by us in respect of such Goods as proof of purchase. Once our Returns Team has processed your refund, you will receive a new e-receipt showing the returned item(s). After this you should expect to see your funds back in your account within 3 to 5 working days, depending on how your card provider processes refunds.

Refunds can only be made to the original payment method and are normally processed within 2 working days, however, during busy periods they can take up to 7 days.

Once our Returns Team has processed your refund, you will receive a new e-receipt showing the returned item(s). After this you should expect to see your funds back in your PayPal account that same day.

We want to reduce our impact on the environment as much as possible, the first step for this is reducing our waste. Therefore, please note that we will always offer a professional repair in the first instance; if the product can be repaired.

This may involve your product being sent back to our suppliers or to a professional repair company. Please note that due tovaried procedures, warranty claims and repairs can take between 2 and 4 weeks to be concluded

What is the Icarus Hoodie 3.0?

The Montane Icarus Hoodie 3.0 is a cosy synthetic insulated jacket designed to provide reliable warmth in cold and changeable conditions that's comparable to 650FP natural down, without the faff.

Built for hikers, hill walkers, climbers and mountaineers, it uses a combination of wind-resistant fabrics and resilient synthetic insulation to maintain warmth even in damp environments.

Materials & Technology

PrimaLoft® Silver RISE Insulation

The Icarus Hoodie 3.0 uses 200g of PrimaLoft® Silver Rise synthetic blown insulation for reliable warmth. PrimaLoft® Silver Rise is made from 100% recycled polyamide from post-consumer recycled material. This synthetic insulation is lightweight and highly durable with a unique construction that allows it to resist compression. It boasts an impressive warmth-to-weight ratio comparable to 650FP high-quality natural down, without any of the faff, making it a great vegan-friendly alternative that still performs even when wet.

Synthetic insulation performs much better in damp conditions than down because it absorbs less water than down, doesn't lose its loft and dries out much quicker if you get caught in a sudden downpour. So, if you're thinking of heading on a multi-day adventure somewhere it's likely to rain (e.g. Anywhere in the UK), a synthetic jacket is a great option.

PERTEX® Quantum Outer Fabric

Montane has surrounded the insulation with 30D Pertex® Quantum, which is a lightweight, recycled nylon ripstop fabric designed to be windproof, breathable and highly packable.

Pertex® Quantum is made from 100% recycled nylon and provides a lightweight, soft feel. It helps improve the efficiency of the insulation by trapping still air. Though recycled, it doesn't skimp on performance; its tightly woven structure provides excellent levels of wind resistance and durability, providing both comfort and enhanced thermal performance. The fabric is coated in a non-fluorocarbon DWR (durable water repellent) coating that encourages light rain or snow to bead off the fabric, without the use of harmful forever chemicals. However, please note this does not make the jacket waterproof.

PEAQ Recycled Nylon Lining

The lining of this jacket is constructed from lightweight 20D PEAQ recycled nylon with a non-fluorocarbon DWR (durable water repellent), which helps protect the inside from getting wet. This PEAQ lining uses a bluesign® approved nylon plain weave, made from 100% recycled nylon, which is lightweight and highly abrasion-resistant. The lining feels soft next to the skin and provides a smooth surface for layering, improving overall comfort levels.

Insulated Mountain Hood

A fully insulated hood provides cosy shelter in cold, windy conditions. The hood features Montane's pivot-adjustable hood system, which allows you to quickly adjust it for a secure fit, helping keep warmth locked in exposed mountain conditions.

Lightweight Stitch-Through Construction

The Icarus Hoodie 3.0 features a square stitch-through baffle construction to help stabilise the insulation and prevent migration over time. This square baffle construction helps distribute insulation evenly for consistent warmth across the jacket and maximum loft, while still keeping the jacket lightweight and highly compressible.

Pack-Compatible Pocket Layout

For storage, you'll find two zipped hand pockets and an internal chest pocket for quick access to essentials such as a mobile phone, GPS device, gloves and snacks. The hand pockets are positioned to remain accessible when wearing a climbing harness or backpack hip belt, ensuring they stay functional, whatever the adventure.

Recycled YKK NATULON® Zips

The jacket is fastened with a YKK NATULON® recycled front zip that provides reliable performance while reducing environmental impact. The full-length zip allows quick ventilation to help regulate temperature, should you start to warm up on steep ascents.

Adjustable Hem and Sealed Cuffs

Elasticated cuffs provide a low-profile fit around the wrists, reducing heat loss in cold conditions. An adjustable hem helps further seal in warmth when the temperatures drop, keeping cold drafts out and warm air locked in.
