What is the Aerofoil Jacket?
It's a super lightweight softshell jacket that provides complete windproof protection without hindering comfort and breathability. The Aerofoil is ideal for
fast-paced adventures and big mountain missions where you'll be working hard.
What is it made of?
This jacket uses Exolite 45 stretch double weave, which is made from polyamide (nylon).
Lab-tested and field-tested, Exolite is proven to be incredibly durable, completely windproof and worthy of wear in any season.
It's finished with a PFC-free DWR (durable water repellent) to help enhance weather resistance and encourage light rain and snow to bead away instead of soaking in.
Fluorocarbons, also known as PFCs, are chemical compounds initially used in DWRs. These compounds can't break down, so once they reach nature via water waste from factories, they stay in the environment and contaminate living organisms, working their way up the food chain. Fluorocarbons are suspected carcinogens and have been known to affect reproduction and hormone production in mammals. Therefore, many leading brands in the outdoor industry are prioritising cutting out the use of these chemicals entirely to contribute to a greener manufacturing process.
What are its features?
A rollaway, elastane-bound Mountain Hood with a rear adjustment offers a more personal fit and extra shelter from the elements.
The jacket's sleeves are articulated and pre-shaped to improve freedom of movement, perfect for using walking or running poles or when tackling a new Alpine climbing route. The cuffs are elastane-bound, which is ideal for layering and also allows more flexibility around the wrists for handling equipment.
The jacket's hem has a drawcord adjustment, which can help you maximise wind resistance at higher altitudes. Overlocking and top stitching help reinforce seams to create a durable, high-quality layer.
The zipped chest pocket offers storage for essentials like a phone, GPS, or snacks to keep you energised throughout the day.
Whether walking the dog in your local country park or exploring mountains in the Lakes, putting the jacket on or taking it off in a hurry will be no problem. There is a chunky YKK® centre front zip for easy access, accommodating you in rapidly changeable conditions.
When you're finished with this lightweight layer, tuck it away into the pocket for compact storage. It even has two twin carabiner loops for hooking to accessory carabiners.
