What is the Vital Hoody?
The Vital Hoody is a lightweight hooded jacket, crafted with windproof protective nylon and DWR (a Durable Water Repellent). A must-have in every explorer's wardrobe, this hoody is a perfect packable backup layer for hiking, trekking or trail running in drier conditions.
What is it made from?
Rab has constructed the Vital Hoody using Windproof 20D Atmos™, windproof woven nylon with fluorocarbon-free DWR for extra water repellence.
What are its features?
The elasticated hood opening increases comfort whilst offering extra protection from the elements when required; ideal for trail-running in the Breckon Beacons or summer weekends exploring mountains in the Lake District. The hood also has a stiffened peak that can help shield the face and ears from the breeze or light showers, and a rear hood volume adjustment for enhanced fit. A full-length zip down the centre front makes for quick and easy access in and out of the jacket, whilst the internal stormflap with a rollover chin guard enhances protection. There is also a snap closure detail on the chest for extra ventilation.
Two zippered hand pockets are great for stowing smaller items like snack packets or your car keys. The cuffs are part elasticated, helping to improve comfort and manoeuvrability of the wrists, ideal to fit over a smartwatch or fitness tracker. The one-sided, hem drawcord adjustment feature, enhances fit to keep the hem closer to the body and so maintain effective temperature regulation.
The whole hoody packs down into its own pocket, making it convenient for a range of activities, as you can easily pack it up and squeeze it into your daypack to prepare for windy pitstops at the summit.
How does it fit?
This hoody comes in a regular fit, sitting slightly looser on the frame, which means you can quickly slap it on over a baselayer if the wind starts to pick up.

The Vital Hoody is an ideal, lightweight outer layer option for warm temperatures and less intense weather conditions. It completely protects from the wind to help you retain heat, whilst protecting from light showers (not heavy downpours; this hoody isnot100% waterproof, only water resistant).
