What is the Alpine GTX Jacket?
The Alpine GTX Jacket is a breathable, waterproof jacket designed for trail running, fastpacking and fast hiking in alpine and mountain environments. Its Gore-Tex® Paclite construction is lightweight and provides all the protection and durability you need for fast and light adventures. Although it's not limited to such intense activity, it's also versatile enough for hiking or casual errands closer to home, where you just need something to chuck on top in case it rains.
What is it made of?
The Alpine GTX is constructed with durable PFC-free polyamide material that is extremely abrasion resistant and lightweight. It feels smooth and comfortable against the skin and provides plenty of flexibility for intense activity.
PFC-free materials are much better for the environment than standard, conventional materials, as they don't contain per- or poly-fluorinated chemicals that pollute the earth after being released in factory waste.
Gore-Tex® Paclite® technology gives the jacket its waterproofness without adding weight or bulk. It's also highly packable, breathable, and windproof, all guaranteed with the Gore-Tex Guaranteed To Keep You Dry™ promise.
Materials are bluesign® approved, ensuring they are responsible, sustainable and ethical. bluesign® works to eliminate the use of harmful substances from manufacturing processes and guarantees responsible resourcing that has minimum impact on people and the environment.
What are its features?
Design details and features are kept to a minimum with this jacket to ensure it's at its lowest weight for keen alpinists and trail runners counting every gram of weight.
The Alpine GTX comes in an athletic fit that sits closer to the body to enhance its technical performance. Rest assured, it doesn't feel restrictive or tight, allowing you to move completely freely.
It has a pre-elasticated hood with laminated brim for extra protection around your face, which is much better for wearing hats and beanies underneath in colder climates.
If you want to take this in a daypack for emergencies, you can stow the garment away inside the hood and shove it inside without it taking up too much space or adding a lot of weight.
Taped seams and water resistant zips help to enhance the waterproof protection by preventing water from seeping through any stitching or fastenings.
The ZipOver™ backsystem, developed by DynaFit, is designed to give space underneath for a small backpack, an amazing detail for keen fastpackers who don't want to carry extra rain covers. The system uses a full back zip that allows you to open the jacket up and fit a pack underneath without feeling uncomfortable or pulling the material backwards.
The cuffs and hem are elasticated, drawing in the fabric to retain heat and keep the elements outside, while providing plenty of mobility where you need it.
