What is the Black Hole® Mini MLC®?
It's a smaller version of the Patagonia Black Hole® MLC®, featuring a versatile, adaptable design and a 30-litre capacity that works perfectly for travelling, weekend breaks, and business trips. The Black Hole® Mini MLC® also meets strict carry-on requirements for most airlines.
What is it made of?
The body of this bag is constructed using 100% postconsumer recycled polyester ripstop with a postindustrial recycled TPU-film laminate to enhance durability and abrasion resistance, ensuring this material will easily endure years of abuse.
It's lined with 100% recycled polyester plain weave with a PU coating for extra reinforcement and weather protection. The backpack and shoulder straps are crafted with 100% recycled polyester air mesh, which is lightweight, flexible, and breathable. Lastly, the webbing comprises 100% recycled nylon for optimum strength and reliability.
Body and strap fabrics are bluesign® approved, meaning they're manufactured safely for the environment, workers and consumers. bluesign® certifications ensure that the materials used avoid harmful substances, use reduced air and water emissions, increase resource productivity, and the production line is more transparent and trustworthy.
This product is also made in a Fair Trade Factory™, giving Patagonia more control of the operations in the factories they choose to work with. Patagonia proudly offers more Fair Trade styles than any other apparel brand in the current market. But how does it work? Patagonia pays a premium for every item made in one of these factories, and this money goes directly to the factory workers. A democratically elected committee of Fair Trade workers will decide how this extra money gets spent in each Fair Trade factory. The program also promotes worker health and safety, and social and environmental compliance, while encouraging healthier dialogue between workers and management.
What carry system does it use?
This bag has multiple carry configurations and uses a lightweight, padded back panel. It has shoulder straps and a padded and stowable hip belt. You can use the hip belt as a shoulder strap if you'd prefer to sling the bag over to one side for hands-free carry, too! Simply change the style by pulling the hipbelt out of the pass-through panel and attaching it to the buckles near the long-end grab handle.
What features does it have?
This bag has a spacious main compartment with two interior organisation pockets and an exterior stretchy mesh pocket that works perfectly for water bottles.
A dedicated tech space that fits a 15" laptop, plus documents and cords, is ideal for those on business trips or simply for the daily commute. You can also zip the laptop carrier open and lie it flat for easy TSA compliance.
A triple-carry configuration delivers adaptability, meaning you can tailor the bag to your preferred carry method. You can use this bag as a backpack, shoulder or crossbody bag, or a briefcase. All necessary straps tuck away, eliminating complicated interchangeable or loose straps.
This bag is purpose-built to meet stringent travel and luggage requirements. However, we always recommend double-checking your airline requirements before you board with it to avoid any nasty surprise fees at the airport.
