What is the Ducan Spine 50-60L?
It's a large outdoor backpack for multi-day hiking, trekking, backpacking, and camping. The Ducan Spine prioritises comfort, mobility, and on-the-go access, providing optimum trail functionality for long days exploring remote locations.
What is it made of?
The main material is polyamide, which is lightweight yet incredibly strong and abrasion-resistant, which helps to increase the longevity of this bag and make it last even longer.
This backpack is partly made with recycled material to help reduce its environmental impact and bluesign® approved to ensure safety throughout the supply chain and customers who purchase this product.
The material is finished with a PFC-free DWR (durable water repellent) for extra weather resistance.
Perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs) used in earlier DWRs can't 'break down', so once they reach nature (usually via water waste from factories), they stay in the environment and contaminate living organisms, working their way up the food chain. PFC's are suspected carcinogens and have been known to affect reproduction and hormone production in mammals. For these reasons, many brands are now using PFC-free alternatives to reduce the impact manufacturing has on our beautiful planet.
The product is also bluesign® approved, meaning it's manufactured in a way that is safe for the environment, workers and consumers. bluesign® certifications ensure that the materials used avoid harmful substances, use reduced air and water emissions, increase resource productivity, and the production line is more transparent and trustworthy.
Mammut works with FairWear to ensure safe, ethical working conditions in their factories, helping to protect workers' rights and being considerate and responsible with their processes.
What backsystem does it use?
The women's Ducan Spine carrying system is tailored to the female anatomy to achieve a more precise, supportive, and comfortable fit.
With patented Mammut Active Spine 3.0 technology, the suspension system mimics your spine's natural movement to support a natural gait while distributing weight evenly across your body to create a barely-there feel.
The back panel is ventilated to help increase airflow and regulate temperature around the main contact points. It can be easily adjusted, allowing you to achieve a precise fit every time.
An integrated metal frame delivers optimum load transfer, while the padded shoulder straps and hip belt enhance comfort and, again, can be adjusted for a more precise fit.
What features does it have?
A large main compartment provides ample storage for your essentials.
Easy-access mesh pockets are perfect for water bottles and high-use gear, while the mesh front pocket works perfectly for storing wet gear or extra layers.
Pole attachments allow you to store walking poles when not in use. Compression straps help to stabilise the load and reduce volume when the pack isn't fully loaded.
An integrated, detachable raincover seals out nasty weather, keeping your belongings dry.
