What is the Tygen 22?
It's a functional, durable, and comfortable 22-litre backpack, ideal for a wide range of outdoor activities and everyday commutes across the seasons. From hiking to commuting, biking to travelling, this versatile daypack is the perfect companion to keep you well-organised on the go.
What is it made from?
The pack is constructed from 70D Nylon with a TriShield Coating, with 140D reinforcements in high-wear areas. Each of these materials has excellent wear resistance, strength and hardiness to tackle tough days in rough, tricky terrain when the weather is challenging. The panels of 140D nylon are placed on the base of the pack for added reinforcement where it's needed most.
The Tri-Shield® Coating is a specialised water-resistant treatment designed to repel water, making it more resistant to moisture and rain. However, please note that this does not make the backpack waterproof.
What backstystem does it use?
The Tygen 22 uses Rab's AirContour™ backsystem, which offers a supportive, breathable carry for various outdoor adventures. It features a moulded foam spacer mesh construction to enhance breathability and ventilation at contact points, helping you feel fresh in warmer climates. A fully removable hip belt provides added versatility, whilst the single-sided edge-bound harness enhances comfort levels on longer days.
What are its features?
The pack features a main compartment with 22 litres of storage, ideal for holding your trail and everyday essentials. Side compression straps help to cinch in any dead space and stop your gear from rolling around in transit, providing a more stable and comfortable carry across various terrain.
Two side mesh stretch pockets provide the ideal home for water bottles and additional layers, while an internal zipped mesh pocket with a key clip helps keep more valuable items secure and easily accessible. There is also a front stash pocket for keeping quick-access items such as snacks, gloves or a lightweight waterproof jacket.
This compact pack can be further streamlined by removing the hipbelt, saving additional weight for more casual excursions when travelling or easy use with a climbing harness. It's also compatible with a water bladder of up to 3 litres, ideal for activities when fuss-free hydration is needed. This bladder compartment also doubles as a convenient tech sleeve to keep a tablet or laptop easily accessible.
A bike loop attachment point allows you to optimise the pack for maximum safety when commuting, while a whistle on the chest strap allows you to signal for attention should you get into trouble on the hill.
Finally, the pack is finished with walking pole attachments for added on-the-hill practicality.
