What is it made of?
Insulation: This Trestles Elite Eco 15 sleeping bag is constructed with synthetic insulation known as HL-ElixR™ Eco Micro instead of the popular goose or duck down. HL-ElixR™ Eco Micro has been created by Marmot, using a unique blend of three different 100% recycled fibres to efficiently trap air. This produces maximum warmth, a soft hand feel and a high loft to the insulation. Unlike down-filled products, this recycled insulation boasts a high warmth-to-weight ratio that will retain around 90% of its insulating properties when wet. Making this bag a better option in colder, damper climates where you'll likely run into a rain shower or two.
Outer fabric: The outer fabric of the sleeping bag uses a 100% Recycled Polyester Ripstop for a durable outer shell that is tough enough to resist abrasion and withstand rocky terrain. This material is treated with a fluorocarbon-free, durable water repellent for extra weather resistance in slightly harsher conditions. Fluorocarbon-free finishes don't use harmful forever chemicals that cause damage to our beautiful planet.
Lining: 100% Recycled Polyester Taffeta fabric creates a soft and comfortable lining for the bag. This fabric allows moisture to easily wick away, helping to regulate your body temperature, aiding a restful night's sleep.
What are its features?
The Trestles Elite Eco 15 Long is the heaviest in the range, weighing in at 1.7kg. It's longer-length offers comfort for users up to 198cm/ 6ft 4" tall and is rated down to an impressive -9⁰C, making it the most suitable for camping at higher altitudes and colder climates.
This cosy sleeping bag has been created in a relaxed mummy shape with an anatomical 3D foot box. This tapered design is thermally efficient and provides enough room for even fidgety sleepers to have a restful night, without excessive room that could hinder the insulation's performance. The 3D foot box provides a comfortable space for your feet to relax after a long day on the trail.
The sleeping bag is fastened with a 3/4 length main zip on the left, with a synthetic-filled baffle running alongside to prevent cold air from entering via the zip. An anti-snag internal zip guard protects the zip from getting caught in the fabric and snagging or tearing it, increasing the longevity of your bag.
A secondary fold-down zipper provides added ventilation and easy access in and out. This means you can happily sit in the bag to keep warm while reading or cooking. There is also an internal zipped stash pocket, ideal for popping your phone and other small essentials, especially useful when sleeping in a compact tent, where space is at a premium.
Our heads are one of the largest contributors to body temperature regulation, so if they get cold, we get cold! An adjustable hood closure system enables you to find a close fit to minimise exposure to cold air, aiding temperature regulation and keeping you warm and toasty.
The bag is constructed using a dual-layer concertina blanket style to the base, which helps reduce cold transmission from the ground. A wave construction on the top gives the insulation sufficient space to loft after being compressed, providing optimal warmth and comfort.
A compression stuffsack is included to carry and store the sleeping bag. Synthetic insulation is suitable for storing in a smaller, more compressed environment. It has much better resistance to compression, allowing it to loft easier than down. However, a stuffsack is still meant to be stuffed! So do your best to cram your sleeping bag inside instead of neatly folding the bag away. Stuffing randomly helps prevent folds and creases in the insulation, preventing cold spots from developing when stored.
