What is the Mythic Ultra 120 Modular?
It's an exceptionally lightweight and warm modular sleeping bag designed to be used in conjunction with an insulating sleeping mat, like Rab's Ultrasphere mat, for maximum thermal efficiency with minimal pack size. It helps to slash the weight of your sleep system for fast and light adventures, mountaineering, multi-day trekking and bikepacking when minimal pack size is key.
What is it made from?
Insulation: The Mythic Ultra 120 Modular uses 120g of 900 fill power, R.D.S Certified, European Goose Down through the upper bag and underside of the legs for maximum loft (fluffiness) and insulation whilst minimising pack size.
European Goose Down is some of the highest quality down on the current market, making this sleeping bag super high grade and efficient for keeping the heat in. The bag is also hand-filled in the UK to ensure the down has not been compressed before use to retain its loft for your first epic adventure.
The down is treated with a Nikwax fluorocarbon-free Hydrophobic finish, which adds light water resistance to the down itself.

Fill power - Fill power measures the warmth and efficiency of the down, alongside its ability to loft (fluff up). A rating of 900 fill power means that 1oz of this down fills 900 cubic inches of space when fully lofted.
R.D.S - The Responsible Down Standard ensures that the down is sourced from happy birds who haven't been plucked and have been well cared for.
Hydrophobic - Hydrophobic down dries out and lofts more quickly than untreated down, resisting moisture from sweat and condensation that may build up when you're catching z's in the bag. Fluorocarbon-free Hydrophobic finishes don't use harmful chemicals that cause damage to the environment, an excellent feature for more eco-conscious adventurers.
Lining: The lining uses a 10D recycled Atmos™ fabric with thermo ionic lining technology or TILT for short. This clever technology utilises titanium-coated nylon fibres to create an almost 'foil blanket' effect whereby your natural body heat is reflected back to you, increasing warmth by 32% without adding a gram of weight. And no, it doesn't feel like a foil blanket, it feels exactly the same as a normal sleeping bag fabric! Neat, Right?
Outer fabric: The outer shell of this sleeping bag is made from the same 10D Recycled Atmos™ fabric, minus the TILT technology. Recycled Atmos™ is made from super-fine, tightly woven yarns, making it windproof, fast-drying and highly water-resistant to protect you from the weather on mountain adventures.
This fabric is treated with a fluorocarbon-free, durable water repellent (DWR) for extra weather resistance in slightly harsher conditions. It's also super handy for accidental drink spills or getting caught out in sudden showers when setting your kit up. Fluorocarbon-free finishes don't use harmful chemicals that cause damage to the environment, which is another bonus feature for those seeking a more sustainable sleeping bag.
What are its features?
The stand-out feature of the Mythic Ultra 120 Modular is its clever distribution of insulation throughout the bag and TILT lining. Designed to be used in conjunction with a sleeping mat with an R-value of 4 or more, this bag saves weight by allowing the insulating mat to provide heat from below and the TILT lining to reflect body heat inside the bag, optimising thermal efficiency. The premium 900 FP European Goose Down throughout the upper bag and lower legs provides super cosy, lofty insulation, resulting in a bag that weighs just over 300g, with an exceptionally small pack size.
The lower bag features an integrated back harness that hooks around the sleeping mat, keeping it in place throughout the night as it insulates you from below. Insulated side baffles marry up to the side of the mat to keep cold spots at bay, helping to aid a restful night’s sleep even when the temperature drops.
The Mythic Ultra 120 Modular is designed in a tapered mummy shape to provide efficient coverage to the whole body. Its lightweight stitch-through construction fully optimises the loft and warmth of the bag. Whilst the chevron shaped baffle design helps reduce migration of the down, whilst optimising core warmth, by encouraging the down to sit in the central points of the sleeping bag.
A diagonal zip provides easy entry and exit to the bag and also offers plenty of ventilation on warmer nights. A down-filled zip baffle helps stop the zip from snagging on the bag, while also eliminating heat loss through the zip on colder nights.
A lightweight roll-top stuffsack is also provided to compact the bag so you can carry it on the move with less bulk. Stuff sacks are meant to be stuffed! So do your best to cram your sleeping bag inside instead of folding the bag away. Stuffing randomly helps to prevent folds and creases in the down, which will prevent cold spots and gaps from developing.
Finally, an integrated hood sleeve provides space to stash clothing inside to create an ultralight pillow, reducing the need to carry an inflatable pillow, allowing you to further streamline your adventure kit list.
