What is the Dura 5R Duo Sleeping Mat?

Good question! The Dura 5R Duo is a two-person sleeping mat designed for demanding multi-day adventures and camping with your other half, whether in remote mountain terrain or if you're extending to alpine or polar regions! It makes sleeping under the stars that little bit cosier. The LW version gives you some extra length and width for taller, wider frames and wriggly sleepers who find it comfier to have some extra room.

For the more eco-friendly-focused adventurer, this air mattress is certified carbon neutral by myclimate.

What is it made of?

Materials: The outer material of this camping mattress is recycled polyester. The upper side is 75D, while the underneath is 170D to give you more durability and help prevent the mat from ripping or tearing when camping on rougher ground. It's Oeko-Tex® 100 certified, meaning it has been tested for harmful substances to provide confidence and safety for the product.

Insulation: Texpedloft Microfibre keeps you warm and provides an R-Value of 4.8 to keep you protected down to -20°C, making this mat suitable for harsh Highland winters and expeditions in colder climates. This insulation is bluesign® approved. bluesign® certifications ensure that the materials used avoid harmful substances, use reduced air and water emissions, increase resource productivity, and the production line is more transparent and trustworthy. Combined with the Oeko-Tex® standard, this makes for some great eco-friendly credentials!

To top it off, Exped works hard to measure, reduce and fully offset CO2 from the manufacturing and shipping of this product.

What are its features?

Exped pioneers the flat valve to provide industry-leading durability, reliability and an intuitive performance for quick and easy set-up.

The construction utilises Exped's signature SynMat Technology™, which features the Texpedloft insulation welded to the top and the bottom of the internal air chambers to optimise heat retention over the mat's lifetime. Each chamber runs from head to toe to provide an even, 7cm thick air cushion for maximum comfort and support, helping you to catch those well-needed z's after a long day.

The Dura 5R comes with a Schnozzel Pump Bag for rapid inflation. The pump bag is easy to use and helps prevent moisture build-up inside the mattress to prevent it from rotting and to increase its longevity. It also requires much less lung power than directly blowing the mat up, so you can save all that oxygen for yourself!

The Dura 5R Duo weighs roughly 2kg and packs down small, making it incredibly light and portable for squeezing into a kit bag or backpack.
