What is the Hubba Hubba 1 Bikepacking Tent?
It's a functional, lightweight tent for solo adventurers on two-wheeled missions. The Hubba Hubba 1 is ideal for keen bikepackers, especially if you're already a fan of the classic Hubba Hubba range, as this model is based on the original designs for maximum performance.
What is it made of?
Flysheet: The flysheet is made from a rugged yet lightweight 20D ripstop nylon with MSR's DuraShield™ polyurethane coating and an additional silicone coating to create complete waterproof protection, with a hydrostatic head of 1200mm.
Canopy: A combination of 10D micromesh and 20D ripstop nylon with a C0 DWR (durable water repellent) creates the canopy, ensuring ample ventilation and breathability for humid nights by the trail. Though lightweight, these materials are still strong enough to survive years worth of wild camps and help to keep weight to a minimum.
Floor: Similar to the flysheet, the base is made with 20D ripstop nylon, with Durashield™ PU coating and a C0 DWR for extra reinforcement, ensuring that even on wet ground, you won't be left with a soggy bottom, as Mary Berry would say...
Poles: Two shorter DAC NSL poles are included with the tent for stable pitching and security. These poles are super lightweight and, once in the stuffsack, integrate seamlessly with virtually any handlebar set-up without taking excessive space.
What are its features?
As mentioned, this is a one-person tent suited to solo adventurers or those who enjoy more privacy on overnight trips. The compact, lightweight design means you'll barely notice it on the bike, giving you plenty of extra space for additional gear whilst saving some extra grams.
MSR fans will be glad to know that this bikepacking-special keeps the classic rectangular floor shape, providing exceptional living space, extra headroom and a larger vestibule to store your biking gear. The interior peak height is 0.97cm, and the length is approximately 2.16m, which is certainly enough to accommodate taller users, too!
Large gear lofts and two clotheslines (inside and out) make this tent the perfect home away from home for longer trips, and the combination of the strong poles, DuraShield™ flysheet and floor and mesh inner prove ideal for frequent use, even in the odd storm.
