What is it?
The Nordisk Telemark Series is loved for its ideal combination of space, weight, easy handling, and sturdy construction. With the introduction of a 2-door PU version, it is not only suitable for light adventures and long-distance running, but it also becomes the obvious choice for hikers, looking for a sturdy and durable shelter that will neither fill up their pack nor cause pain in the back.
What is it made of?
The Telemark 2.2 PU is made using a 100% Ripstop PU Polyester. This lightweight fabric provides strength, tear-resistance and waterproofing (3000mm hydrostatic head).
The inner tent is made from a lightweight and breathable polyester with mesh panels in the doors. To ensure the tent doesn't get too hot in warm conditions it is fitted with smart fly ports for optimised airflow.
Nordisk have used lightweight aluminium poles throughout to reduce weight and provide superior strength. Youalsoget high quality aluminium pegs to ensure a secure grounding; the guy ropes are made from a super tough Nylon to provide strength and low weight. A tough and waterproof (8,000mm hydrostatic head)Polyester groundsheet provides protection from the wet ground but we always recommend the use of a footprint; they do a brilliant job of protecting your groundsheet from damage from nasty sharp things, stones and other objects.
The footprint also provides another layer of waterproofing which is particularly useful when camping in soggy conditions or on snow. Toughen up and carry the extra weight, it's worth it to prolong the life of your tent.
How is it constructed?
The Telemark is pitched flysheet first with the single pole being inserted quickly into the smooth inverted sleeve, in hot weather you can just use the flysheet as your shelter for a truly minimal camping experience. Small poles are fitted in each corner to create vertical end walls which improves the internal foot and head room. Once the outer is pitched simply clip in the inner tent, making sure that you work from one side to the other. This pitching method is very quick and ensures the inner stays dry in wet conditions. If you are moving from site to site you can leave the inner attached and pitch the Telemark as one. Once you get inside the light and airy interior adds to the sense of space and thelargeentrancesprovide easy access and a full panoramic view.
What are the features?
To create a sheltered porch area you can remove three of the corner poles to make one long pole to support the open door, you'llneed the additional guy rope and another peg to support the pole. With practice you can get this fantastic tent erected in only a few minutes! It is superbly ventilated, has easily adjustable guy ropes, magnetic ‘quick-snap’ door closure, inner pockets for storage, four sewn inn corner poles and the possibility to convert the two outer doors into a cooking canopy, using the two extra mini poles and the included extra guy rope.
