What are the Utilana Short Johns?
They're a shorter version of Tierra's Utilana Long Johns, providing warmth where needed with less coverage, weight and bulk for active mountain missions in cool temperatures. They double up nicely as camping pyjamas too!
What are they made of?
These short johns are made with a blend of merino wool, recycled nylon and lycra.
Merino wool is renowned for its fantastic performance properties, being naturally soft, breathable, fast drying, and odour resistant, which you'll be grateful for on a hot day. It's effective at regulating temperature – it'll keep you warm during the winter and cool during the summer, ideal for wearing all year round.
The recycled nylon provides extra durability without adding excessive weight and bulk. Being recycled, of course, makes it much better for the environment, too, by keeping materials out of landfill.
Lycra gives these pants a lovely stretch to optimise comfort and freedom of movement for active hill days and maximum at-home comfort.
What are their features?
The elasticated waist feels comfortable and flexible, emblazoned with the Tierra logo so that you can rep your favourite outdoor brand right down to the bone (almost).
Flatlocked seams provide next-to-skin comfort, reducing the risk of rubbing and chafing next to the skin when worn for long periods.
The natural performance of the fabric means you could even wear these as pyjamas when camping or staying overnight in a hut/bothy, no matter what the season, making them a fantastic, versatile addition to your wardrobe.
