What is the Astro Jacket?
Draped in timeless simplicity, the Astro, like all micro fleeces, works great in all situations. Versatile, lightweight and comfortable, this classic outdoor layer will keep you toasty when temperatures begin to drop.
What is the Astro Jacket made of?
Originally designed to replace the bulky woollen jumper, the modest micro fleece has been around since about 1979 as a lighter-weight and technically superior fabric. Woollen jumpers do keep you warm but they hold onto moisture for a relatively long period of time and become very heavy when saturated. Micro fleece fabric, on the other hand, can only hold on to roughly 1% of its weight in water and dries impressively fast in comparison. It also does a great job at keeping you warm too which is always nice.
What are the features?
The Astro features two generously sized zippered hand pockets and flatlock seams throughout to minimize chafing and to make the Astro easy to layer up. The Astro also has a soft micro fleece chin guard and a zipper placket.
How does the Astro fit?
The Astro has a 'regular fit' which means it is cut to the shape of your body but sits a loser than a snug-fit garment.
What does the Astro fit in the Layering System?
The Astro is predominantly designed as a mid layer and can be layered up over a base-layer and under a shell jacket but also works well as a stand-alone jacket on still, milder days.
Summary
The soft, luxurious hand to this jacket gives exceptional next-to-skin comfort that is only comparable to the feeling of being hugged by a cloud; which you can now take with you wherever you go.
