What are the Grivel G10s?
They're a robust crampon designed for glacier walking, classic mountaineering and ski-touring to give you maximum grip on ice and snow. These crampons are the ideal starting point for beginners who have never used crampons before yet are still highly suited to regular mountaineers who need something reliable.
What are they made of?
The G10s are made of steel and plastic, offering high durability to withstand impact from solid ice and a little flexibility to accommodate different types of footwear.
What are their features?
These crampons have a total of ten points, six in the front and four at the back. They're not too long, so they facilitate walking well, and are not too bulky either, making them light and comfy enough to carry in a pack.
The webbing strap fastening is easy and quick to use, and you can adjust the regulation bar in the centre to accommodate different boot sizes.
This set of crampons comes with a New-Matic Binding System which uses a plastic harness hinged from two posts. This harness holds the boot securely in place, even if it has a shallow or worn front welt, or when overboots are being used.
The G10 Crampons are also equipped with Grivel's proactive Antibott in the front and the rear. Antibott is designed to stop snow from building up underneath the foot when the crampon is being worn. This can be extremely dangerous in terms of stability and overall safety, preventing the points from biting the ground and sticking.
