What are the Mission Leather Low WP?
They're lightweight, waterproof approach shoes built to endure regular use in rugged mountain terrain. The Mission Leather Shoes are ideal for outdoor lifestyles and a variety of activities, including walk-ins, mountain treks, Via Ferrata, hiking and even a bit of bushcraft - they can virtually do anything!
What are they made of?
These shoes have a high-grade Nubuck Leather upper which is highly durable and naturally breathable to keep you feeling comfortable on longer days. It's combined with a reliable BD.dry lining, which uses Black Diamond's very own waterproof technology to provide complete protection from the elements. Though waterproof, the lining is also highly breathable to promote temperature regulation and prevent sweat from building up inside the shoe.
The forefoot and toecap are constructed with BlackLabel-Mountain rubber, an abrasion resistant sticky rubber, designed to give you more grip on rock - ideal for technical scrambles and rocky terrain.
An EVA midsole provides stiffness underneath the foot to enhance stability and underfoot protection, offering more precision on vertical terrain or Via Ferrata routes.
What are their features?
The Mission Leather Shoes have a traditional lacing system and multiple webbing loops to give you tagging options for when you begin your ascent. Underneath the laces, the tongue is fully gusseted and padded to optimise comfort whilst keeping dirt and debris out.
The construction of the shoes overall uses minimal stitching with intentional seam placement that minimises their exposure to wear, increasing longevity to withstand regular use in rugged environments.
On the outsole, the lugs are deep to provide high traction in mud, yet they still offer climbing capability and security on soft terrain to give you reassurance and confidence in any season, on any route.
Finally, the heel brake allows you to dig into soft surfaces with the foot to stabilise and slow yourself down if needed, and the midfoot shank helps you feel more comfortable on aid walls and Via Ferrata routes.
