Switchfit Adjustment Technology Switchfit technology allows you to switch easily between hiking and climbing modes, giving you better edging and smearing as well as overall security on technical terrain.
What are the Wildfire 2 GTXs?
They're high performance, technical approach shoes built with Switchfit adjustment and robust yet lightweight materials, providing exceptional comfort and support for climbing performance and walk-ins. However, their limitations don't stop there! They'd also be fantastic as lightweight trekking or hiking shoes for various conditions.
What are they made of?
The upper uses a lightweight recycled mesh that gives excellent breathability and durability to withstand use in rugged terrain. It's reinforced with a 3F system and network of Kevlar cables that wrap around the foot, providing increased flexibility and fit while enhancing heel support and torsional stability. Surrounding the lower part of the upper is a protective TPU rand that gives structure and protection around the sides and toes for rocky environments.
Midsoles are made of EVA rubber that's solid yet squishy enough to absorb shock on solid ground. EVA can regain its shape well and provides fantastic cushioning under the foot to help improve comfort on longer trails.
The Pomoca Speed Mountain outsole meets traction requirements typical of a mountain approach, such as paths, rocks and scree, with S-Path technology that encourages a more natural roll-off. It has an auto-composed pattern that divides into different sections that work with the movement and placement of the foot for maximum grip and stability on both dry and wet surfaces.
Finally, the Gore-Tex® Extended Comfort lining provides maximum moisture and heat transfer, making them both highly breathable, and waterproof.
What are their features?
One of the big highlights of these shoes is their Switchfit technology which allows you to switch easily between hiking and climbing modes, giving you better edging and smearing as well as overall security on technical terrain.
MFF+ (Multi Fit Footbed) provides adaptation to various foot shapes such as wide and narrow.
Added Cleansport NXT gives these shoes an odour control finish using naturally occurring, sustainable probiotic technology.
They have a climbing lacing system that runs all the way down to the toe for improved fit. The lacing system has adaptive eyelets, designed to help fine-tune the shape of the shoe and keep the lacing in place when you're on the move.
