What is the Trailblazer 18?
It's a lightweight, functional backpack that offers approximately 18 litres of storage for done-in-a-day adventures and general outdoor activities. Thanks to its adaptable design, the Trailblazer 18 makes the perfect daypack for enthusiasts of all levels.
What is it made of?
Main: The primary fabric is 70D Raptor Cross Lite - a 100% nylon, recycled material with a durable PU coating that provides high abrasion and weather resistance. This material is incredibly durable and will last you for years to come. It's treated with PFC-free DWR (durable water repellent) for enhanced protection without harmful 'forever' chemicals.
Lining: Halo 200D 100% polyester lining provides durability whilst keeping the weight to a minimum. Polyester has a smoother finish than nylon, helping to protect items inside the pack from getting scratched. The lining is also treated with a PFC-free DWR for reinforced water resistance.
Mesh: Montane has constructed the mesh pockets with Power Mesh, which comprises 80% recycled nylon and 20% elastane. This material is incredibly lightweight, breathable, and stretchy, making it easy to accommodate different sizes of items. The mesh is also quick-drying and allows ample ventilation to reach any damp belongings tucked in these pockets, helping to keep the rest of your kit clean.
What back system does it use?
The Trailblazer 18 has a less extensive, techy back system like its larger cousins. Montane has designed the pack this way to create a lighter, more streamlined design suited to shorter days on the hill and fast-paced adventures. Therefore, the back panel is soft yet supportive, minus any fancy bits and adjustments.
Shoulder straps and hip fins are made with Contact Air Mesh Plus (100% recycled polyester) to keep overall weight low without compromise. These feel light and comfortable to wear, and combined with the Covalent harness configuration, which pulls the pack closer to the body, this backpack hugs the figure naturally to optimise overall feel, user experience and stability.
What are its features?
Two off-centre 'Click and Go' chest harness straps improve overall security, even when moving quickly.
Wrap-around wand pockets with locking security zips allow you to access items inside on the go without taking the backpack off. There's also a mesh-stretch pocket on the front, which is ideal for stuffing away a map or waterproof.
You can use the bonded front panel and T-hook modular system for attaching hiking poles, whether on the front or side of the pack, as a bungee system or as extra compression straps for maximum versatility.
A hydration bladder sleeve accommodates hands-free, on-the-go hydration. Alternatively, mesh pockets on the harness easily fit soft flasks or small bottles.
