What is the Transporter WP Duffel?
This duffel bag is a heavy-duty, expedition gear-hauler that provides maximum waterproof protection - so strong that it's even submersible, with a waterproof rating of IPX7!
What is it made of?
It's constructed using 630D Diamond Ripstop High Tenacity Nylon with a TPU coating to provide optimum durability and waterproofness. The material is bluesign® and GRS certified, verifying that it's much more eco-friendly than other standard materials. It also has a PFC/PFAS-free DWR coating that doesn't use chemicals harmful to the planet.
Ripstop nylon is extremely robust, meaning it can withstand bumps and scrapes against rough surfaces like jagged rock or sharp branches. The base of the bag is also reinforced with more fabric, where it's more likely to endure a beating. The TPU coating reinforces the material's durability and waterproofness, resulting in an IPX7 rating for this fabric.
A rating of IPX7 means that this bag can be submerged under 1 metre of water for up to 30 minutes and still keep its contents dry. So, if you're crossing water to make it to your location, rest assured your kit will be safe and dry inside should you be unfortunate enough to capsize.
What backsystem does it use?
Duffel bags generally don't have a specialised backsystem like the more technical Osprey packs. However, you can still mount this duffel on your back if you get sick of hauling it around on your shoulder!
The dual top grab-handles double up as a comfortable harness. Each strap is lightly padded and can be fully removed if you want to strip down on weight or would instead not use them.
What are its features?
The Transporter WP Duffel has a large zipped entry for easy access into the whole main compartment. Inside, there's a removable organiser pouch for smaller items and compression straps to lock down the load and keep possessions in place once your journey gets underway.
Multiple external lashing and attachment points allow you to attach gear to the outside of the bag, saving space for precious or more essential items like clothing or electrical equipment.
The waterproofness is reinforced with YKK® Aquaseal submersible zips and RF welded seams, preventing liquid from seeping through the fastenings and stitching, even when completely underwater.
